A Question for Scribes (and crafters in general)

I’m getting into Inscription late into the patch and would like to clarify a few nuances.

The plan is to concentrate on Fauna Runes, but even with maxed out talent trees it feels as it would be more profitable to simply sell materials than to craft. Is that the case and if yes, how can it be dealt with?

Should I concentrate on particular attributes like Multicraft or Resourcefulness, or keep Inspiration due to higher chance of producing best quality runes?

Can consumables be profitable in general? Especially, in relation to Inscription.

Would be great to have better understanding of how all of it work.

I have made more on Missives and Contracts than anything else. But this late in the XPac, the amount has gone way down.

You might make money from Dragon cosmetics, but getting the recipes is another thing altogether.

Just like Alchemy, Multicraft helps a lot. Resourcefulness can help, but I’m swimming in herbs already. When everyone is selling at cost, it’s better to get 3 of an item rather than one.

Not even sure if players use Fauna Runes
