Feral Druid looks super tempting to level and main for next season, but I have a few questions that might make or break:
- Do you really need to take Convoke?
- Is Adaptive Swarm that effective?
- Do I really need to take Convoke for Wildstalker?
Feral Druid looks super tempting to level and main for next season, but I have a few questions that might make or break:
I think it depends on the content you’re looking to do.
Just based on the ‘top Ferals’ in m+
(Sauce: Murlok IO)
One thing I found super useful was the ‘optimal snapshot WA. Found it on
I can’t answer your questions, but I will say that I just stared with Feral, and having read, understood, and fully mentally absorbed all the abilities/talents, and read some recommendations on the rotation… I have no idea what I’m doing. This is by far the most complex spec I’ve tried since I came back to the game a year ago. Good luck!
Also be extra careful when petting a feral druid.
not sure why you wouldn’t want to take convoke, it is a fun ability that does a lot of damage
Not a super fan of ‘Fire and Forget’ Cool Downs. Berserk is far more interesting.
you don’t have time to ‘forget’ it - only 4 sec
But it’s not that fun when you can simply macro it to something else and completely forget about it. It’s a pretty boring button.
Yea, it’s pretty effective
Tried it for a bit, didn’t care for it. So I guess I’m part of the small group that didn’t take it.
if you scratch them between the ears then your good
I kind of want to take Primal Wrath for the DoT cleave rather than Convoke since it just looks so boring.
Huh? Is this specifically for Raid? Because Primal Wrath is effectively locked in for M+ because of the no limit rip it applies
Yea, its MASSIVE for burst and damage overall.
You have to be careful with it as you can easily pull threat on pull.
But its a one button super nuke.
Yea in both single and aoe. It makes your dots hit 25% harder.
Both of these are go to talents for stalker and claw hero builds.
as someone who has been playing a feral druid since 2006 I can tell you right now that you can play it anyway you like. You don’t have to take convoke or adaptive swarm. However, it would be worth looking at the guide on either wow head or icy veins just to see why they suggest the builds and the rotations they do. Personally, I play very casually, and I go back to do mythic two expansions later. However, my druid is probably my fastest leveling and farming character, and the most fun because of all of the versatility and the additional speed boost I get from being a Worgen.
You’re already taking it. You gotta!
One thought for you.
Convoke can save a wipe if you catch it in time. Drop your target, shift out of form, convoke heals many folks a lot. If you want to see, hit it in the bank and watch the green numbers fly.
Spot on, but I run a night elf, because shadowmeld is worth it.
What kinda content are you looking to do?
Everything, actually.
I get Convoke can be versatile and superstrong every two minutes, but that’s every two minutes. I’d rather not use it if applicable for something to get that little bit more cleave in there.
But like would it be at the level you’re currently doing ( say LFR and Weekly dungeons, maybe some random bgs)?
If so then you can choose any talents without much issue
It appears none of the ferals are answering this correctly.
The obvious answers are:
