A possible solution to Twinks vs Non-Twink debate

Or at least solve the longer que times.

What Blizz should do is REMOVE all static Exp Gains from BGs
Then when a player ques for a BG, that player can choose to play for either EXP or Honor.
And Have appropriate rewards for players who choose whether or not to play for EXP:
Gear for those who do, PVP tokens for those who don’t.

This way, BOTH Twinks AND causal PVPs both can play for Honor/Pride/Esteem But no Exp while staying in their Chosen brackets.

And Levelers can Play for Gear and EXP but no Honor/rewards.

Xon players will still be paired with other Xon players and Xoff Player will still be Paired with Xoff Players, except when there’s a deficiency in one group in which the sorting system will add a few individuals (preferably with the highest Ilvl) to the other que to make up the difference (but never for a group that makes up less then probably 70-80% of that group’s base). Each player will still play for their desired reward while the discrepancy between groups should be negligible (worst case, an Xon player would be grouped with a Team of Xoff player, in which case the Xon player would probably still benefit the most.)

Seams to me would be far simpler system and no more difficult to implement then a two Que system. Effectively, in the end, players would be sorting themselves.

I vote for merging the Qs and reintroducing templates/scaling below max level.

I understand leveling players don’t want to get crushed by twinks. I also understand some people don’t want to PvP at max level because of the time/content commitment it takes to gear. (I’m one of the latter. I hate PvE and RBGs. I just want to do unrated BGs, but that’s a horrible way to gear at max level.)

I’m not opposed to merging the Ques and reimplementing scaling but I do feel like that is going backwards somewhat and people are STILL going to complain.

My solution puts the burden squarely on the player queuing up for the BG as what they want out of the BG.

Scaling also feels like it takes a lot of a Twink’s hard work and makes it moot. Why would anyone gear if everything is going to scale with you.

PVPing for honor is going to come at a cost. Better risks, bigger rewards.

Another aspect that people overlook is that some people enjoy the simplicity at lower levels. Yes, this definitely leads to imbalance because Blizzard can’t balance the game at every level. However, there is an appeal to the game at lower levels opposite to max level due to the pure amount of knowledge. At max level, to PvP competitively would be to know every class and every racial - it can be overwhelming.

Agreed. I enjoy it because it’s like starting with a handy-cap and working hard to expand the bounds within that limitation. You have a finite lvl you reach but how well you can work with limited options is part of the fun.
