Take a nap, got out for a walk, play some other game from time to time.
To the few % that are 60 and the even fewer % that are close to be done with phase I content (on 1 char!), I say:
Don’t try to rush the release of all vanilla content in quick successions. Consider that most people have jobs, kids, friends and other hobbies but are subscribed to the same $ for WoW Classic as you.
We would also like to be able to enjoy phase I endgame content before phase II releases.
Many of you made clear that they will not play if there is no new content, so even more important it should be for Blizzard to not rush the content and not invalidate prior phases that most of us will not have experienced if you rush to every new phase.
Lets all take the feet from the gas and slow down a bit, enjoy the ride and make “first” irrelevant. Give us some time to take a breath and catch up. While at the same time being able to do everything else in life, the subscription will not be less per month, just last longer.
Don’t make the game easier as many are veterans, just give us more time to catch up with the “first crowd” while being able to enjoy it.
Well theres your problem. I don’t want blizzard holding back content because people are not willing to go hard. I have a job (but not any of that other garbage) and have been able to get two characters to level 38+ hell if i stuck to one character i would have been 60 by now. Just because you waste your time with things that are not WoW isn’t my problem, get those phases out quick so i can play BG’s.
Also your friends, kids and wife should be playing the only hobby you should have and that is WoW.
Dude I am with ya, I need to go out for a walk and do stuff.
However, I Have seen economy Gouged by layer abuse, Rhok’delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers and full epics on a hunter on week 3 after release on my server Ect. SLow down…? blizz already F’ed it from the get go. i get tell’s daily asking for me to help layer them!! I do not help or support the activity.
In all honesty if you are not hip and “Layereing” take a back seat
Just telling it how it is XD, just thank blizzard!!! classic is diablo 2 LOD status hahaha
I should add i did not fully read OP’s post but wanted to rant after a few beers
People of all experiences should just play and let Blizzard worry about when things will come out. The major concern of Blizzard right now seems to be getting rid of layers, so I figure about November we will be seeing Phase 2.
While I get your point, Blizzard can’t wait on you forever. Just because you have certain circumstances doesn’t mean Blizzard should sit around waiting for the slow pokes to finally get it in gear. I’m in the same boat, and understand it will be sooner rather than later.
As long as there are people without jobs, or who now stream for a living, someone will always be behind the no-lifers who play for 8-16 hours a day. There is nothing you can do about it.
Instead of projecting your inability to play the game because of real life commitments, take solace in the fact that the players who enjoy the “gas pedal” style of play will take breaks in between phases giving you time to catch up. If it’s not a race you shouldn’t care either way, right?
You missed OP’s point entirely. These “gas pedal” players as you put it are pushing Blizzard to release the phases faster/sooner. In other words, before the vast majority of players have even begun to experience the current content.
The first of the “hurry up and release phase 2” posts started only a few weeks after classic was even released. One of the biggest reasons LFR was added to the game was because only a very small percentage of players were able to see end game content before new content was released and now these players are trying to send Classic down that path again.
Why? So they can epeen flex and strut around like downing 15 year old content quickly some how makes them better than other players? Give me a break. Most of us have been waiting for something like Classic for over a decade now and we’re actually enjoying the experience instead of just trying to consume content as quickly as possible. That type of zerg mentality belongs on retail, not here.
Kinda it. People begged for Classic and instead of enjoying themselves, smelling the flowers etc. they rushed to 60 and bagged out those who enjoyed a game they had been waiting for. The minority should not outweigh the majority.
Really doubt blizzard would cave honestly. They’ve got shareholders to please and shareholders wouldn’t be pleased if blizzard doesn’t stretch the amount of time it takes to launch classic content. Once it’s out and done there’s no more and nothing to really keep a good deal of players subbed. Sure some people will stay no matter what but eventually players will leave. Keeping people subbed and getting them to use character services is their main goal.
This is what I’m hoping will happen, but the company has had a bad habit of catering to streamers lately so the pessimist in me is leaning more towards believing that Blizzard will do whatever keeps them happy.
I’m surprised you haven’t been flamed more in this post. I’m with OP 100%. I am pretty good at seeing both sides of a situation. 1 side are people with 60’s who prob are geared to the teeth and then on the other side you have people who are hanging out and taking their time leveling.
Personally I am the latter. Classic released on Aug 26th and on Aug 30th we closed on a house so I was outta commission for a week or so with moving and everything else. Even though I’ve been having a blast playing I feel like I’ve been playing catch up to all my friends who are 50+ now.
Phase 2 doesn’t really add anything that will be a game changer and I would not be mad if it came out sooner than later. All phase 2 is Diremaul, World Dragons, and BG’s/Honor. Now I wouldn’t want a president set that all phases need to be released so fast, but giving players BG’s and honor system will make them less “gas petal-ish” because there’s always honor to farm grin
I think Blizzard is trying to make the phase releases mirror how the patches released in vanilla. Vanilla dropped in Nov. and by March we had Dire maul, Dragons, and BG/Honor (early june). So by time line direction if phase 2 was released sometime in December it would be pretty close to how it was released in Vanilla.
We will get there man. We have plenty of time. Don’t feel rushed. Just play whatever speed you can and remember to have fun cuz that’s what really matters. I’ve slowly been trying to accept that I don’t have 12 hour game sessions in me like I did back in the day and some people do. Its a tough pill to swallow but it is what it is.
As long as you consider, that some people with jobs, kids, friends and other hobbies are a 60 with pre raid BiS too
I am not advocating for rushing the next phase, but I am tired of reading that people with lives outside of Classic, can’t be 60 and in pre raid BiS or better already.
