You said 55 in your original post, you need 4x as much ap for 60 as you do for 54 and the difference is huge.
i said 55 because thats the reasonable level for raiding. Lets not forget essences. God knows i’d have to go through all that nonsense again. Some of them such as Worldvein are time gat ed by several days. Some several weeks.

What, you’re saying you DONT want to max conquest on you main and every alt for the next 14 weeks to get your rank 3 conquest essence?
You have people who aren’t even raiding or doing any other difficult content complaining about their alts not having the ‘best’ ones. Somehow people think it they don’t have the ones listed as BiS on the websites, they won’t be able to do those world quests on their alts or something.

First, it doesn’t look like a ton … and for some reason the Passive Essence powers do not do allot like when i check the amount of damage that Crucible of Flame on-hit proc added to my damage … it is very few, in the 2% range. Crucible of Flames on-use skill adds allot more damage to my DPS then the passive.
That being said i am with you right here. I bought me 3 Month gametime … and i would not do that again if i had researched that Essence System more beforehands. I would have maybe bought me one Month … and then stopped.
The worst thing about those Essences is that they force you to participate in a multitude of Content and worse still … grind to hell that style.
Like forcing me to grind Reputation to Exalted with the Nazjatar Faction … and Mechagon … even worse forcing me to do PvP … I do not like PvP in WoW anymore, but now i get forced to participate in BGs, Arenas and even worse World PvP.
They could just not make it that every activity earns you some sort of currency … and then with that currency you can go to some Vendor and just buy the Essence … and once u got Rank 1 you can buy Rank 2 which then costs more currency …
I not really care about how long it takes to get Essences … after all the Character should earn the Essence by running around and being Played … i just find it stupid that if i play a alt i have to grind the 2 Faction to max as well.
No we do not do enough World Quests … do we? I would prefer to be able to run stuff with other Players while earning Essences … like the Essences you get in the Raid and M+ Dungeons … while not being forced as PvP Player to do PvE content … and as PvE Player to do PvP content.
Imagine i do PvP on one toon … and purely PvE on another? …

I have 15 120s, what is there a problem with having alts ?
They aren’t forcing you into doing anything. They made essences available from a variety of sources so people can just do the content they normally do and get essences. That is all it takes just play the game on your alt.

well if you run endgame content compared to Legion it’s so much worse trying to get them all viable. the people I know that still play alts play like 50+ hours a week

No. As someone else said, theres gotta be seperation between our mains and our alts.
Want something on a character? Go get it on that character. Dont wanna put forth the effort to get something, even if it means you gotta do it twice or even three times? To bad. Suck it up and deal with it.

that’s kind of silly. certain essences for PVP come from PVE solely so you’d have to do other content just to be viable like the Rage regen essence, which requires you to grind follower XP.
They did not do anything to make the PVP essences the most viable and vice versa, some specs Blood of the Enemy is the best in PVE situations like M+ yet you have to PVP to get it.

Did you actually play the first year of legion ? Sure by the end there were lots of catchups for your weapon and lots of ways to get legendaries but legion was a lot less forgiving in terms of alts than this expansion is to this stage.
yes I played all through legion and rep was not something I was concerned about on my alts. the artifact power sure but you could do whatever content you wanted to get that up. much different than today lmao
No it isn’t silly. You don’t need to have the essence some website said is best on your alts in order to be ‘viable’. Having to have the best gear to play is very often the excuse for players with poor playing skills.

Yes you want to be competitive but don’t want to put the effort in to get there - how is that working for you ?
what are you talking about? I already have rank 2 of the PVE essences I need and almost to rank 3 on my rage regen essence. Doesn’t mean I wasn’t super annoyed by it or even considering getting my rogue geared up because of how bad the grind is.

Pretty sure you were the one complaining about being FORCED to get essences and how it is just terrible to get your alts ‘viable’.
Ya I’m complaining because playing alts was always fun in an MMORPG. It’s fun to do current content with them too because maybe rogue is more viable in a certain situation or something.
The thing I’m noticing is some of these people telling us to ‘get over it’ haven’t even gotten AOTC past ez clap Argus. It’s as if they aren’t even currently playing the end game content 
There is lots of end game content. I enjoy playing alts and that is why I like having these essences available to work on for each alt.
