In the hundreds of mythic dungeons I’ve healed with paladins, today, for the first time, a Paladin used Blessing of Sacrifice on me when I was taking some bad damage… TWICE in one run! OMG! Someone actually thought about their healer?! HIS blessing buttons are not invisible covered in a thick layer of dust! Why are YOURS!?
Sry, it just feels so weird and kinda awesome and somehow spitefully surprising knowing other classes have it in them to push the buttons they have but never do to help out while I’m face rolling every key combination there is to keep everyone alive. Oh, I’m sure you’re thinking I’m exaggerating, and I am a little bit, but srsly, too many people play selfishly and then rage about wiping. If every CD you have isn’t on cooldown when you wipe, it’s probably you’re fault. Just sayin…

Recompense makes it a dps CD. Don’t be suprised to see it more oftenly used.
Unfortunately since they decided it shouldn’t be baselined anymore it just isn’t worth wasting a talent point on a lot of the time. Blame blizz for this issue.

I don’t play ret seriously, only in world content, so I don’t know if any rets take it for the dps bonus (on first glance to me it seems not super strong, probably not worth two talent points). I do often pick it up as protection though, just because I love the feeling of off-healing and defending my party in ways other than just holding aggro while prot tanking.
Prot pally sac someone automatically when he pop wings or when there is a heavy AoE damage fight, ret should have sac macro when use divine shield.
In any casr, prot pally off-heals and sac quite often. Are you sure you play with prot pallies more than a few times?

I use it all the time on my Prot Pally, it’s such a good support ability, talented to 1m CD you can have it up every Hyrja Storm for example…
I do agree it’s not that common in pugs to see people using it but it’s also not like you never see it, I’ve had a few Pally tanks when healing on my Priest that do use it quite often too. Can’t say about Ret because I’ve rarely had Ret Pallys in my groups.
It’s probably not something you can expect to see in low keys very often but once you start doing keys at +20 or higher it becomes much more common I think. Same thing with (for example) a Devastation Evoker using Zephyr well.
On PvP this ability is bread and butter, being used constantly. Surprised it isn’t used more often in PvE. Sac is off the GCD and with a talent (Recompense) it will boost damage of the caster next Judgment.

It’s used often in pve, especially for tanks. It isn’t used often for ret and holy paladins because unless you have bubble, you likely die to unavoidable damage if you sac on someone else. I saw plenty holy paladins sac-ed on my BDK and died 1s later.
I use it as often as I can when there’s heavy damage, but if you’ve healed many rets, you know we’re a bit squishy, too. Every time I use it I wonder if I’m about to trade my life for theirs.

This is the exact reason why its not worth using sac on live as ret, especially in 20+ keys. With the rework making us like 6x more durable it will likely see more use.

Ive taken sac just cause of the build I run uses it but if I dont have bubble up im basically dead. I rather just hit low HP healers with Lay On Hands and pop them back up and out of heart attack range
I use it on the healer every time there’s group wide damage.
Same and I’m garbage at tanking.
I’d contend that if you’re at least using your utility talents then you’re not really garbage.
Blessing of Sacrifice is a dps cooldown. So yeah, they should be using it lmao.
