Joined a battleground yesterday just for the fun of it.
Went optop of the lumber hill on athari with 1 maybe 2 other alliance players and absolutley slaughtered 5 -7 horde players in a row. 100-0 in 5 seconds flat each.
Not gonna lie, marksman feels pretty good right now even with doubble tap gone
It was just a positive note for people interested in marksman hunter now that double tap is gone.
Im not going to lie. I enjoyed double tap, but as quick as it came it went from my perspective.
Hunter still can krank out some gnarley dee pea esse even without it.
MM for a long time now has been a great BG and low rated RBG spec. Problem is the higher you go the more aware players are to countering your burst. I picked it up mid S2 in SL and the grind to get Hero was arduous. It never lacked damage it was always a utility and survivability problem at high rating. If triple melee sit on you all game you’re in the GY. I haven’t been pvping seriously this season due to just being burnt on it but I can see it being beneficial to be more of a sustained spec since the buffs. The whole uproar about DT removal was there was no reasonable compensation, now we have it.
go do some 1v1 duels and you will realize how poor MM hunter is.
im not saying 1v1 is balanced, but it truly shows you the toolkit each class has in their short burst windows, with defensives used etc.
mm hunter falls short literally every single time.
in conclusion, congratulations you destroyed a bunch of random players who probably didnt even have their cds. as someone else posted, this means nothing and we cannot accept this as some psudo hope or something to believe in. its actually pathetic to see.
account holder since 2008…wish i could tell you how many times blizz made errors and reverted them. when they do something like this thats too big of a F-UP, they wont revert it because of how negatively it looks. They will slowly rebuff the base dmg until it is back to what it was anyways, just way less fun. they are already doing it…embarassing tbh. let me be very clear to anyone who it concerns reading this, i also will not be resubbing. blizz still cant balance pvp and instead of adjusting core abilities now they just remove them. 50% nerfs to abilities means all logic is completely out the window. this type of development is unacceptable in current day therefore i will not continue to waste money on a poor gameplay experience. we are sad, you know we are sad, everyone knows we are sad, what the hell are you idiots doing honestly…yalls customer retention is just as bad as ever i guess because no MM hunter wants to play DF now except for jellybeans, who isnt even playing it anymore. fantastic work everyone.
yea mm is only good in those epic non rated bg’s when you can hide behind a bush and unload on opposing players that are preoccupied fighting 2-3 of your teammates while you chop them down undetected.
but i would not call that overpowered or even in a “good place” because unrated bg’s mean nothing.
It’s the range TBH. When Boomkin had that 46 yard+ range in like BFA or Legion they actually took our spot as Random BG Stompers for a while.
MM right now has potential. I think the biggest issue is that melee in organized arena has every tool to roll us over. With spell pushback Aimed Shot is almost 2 GCDs worth of damage from a melee on your face that has an eon to react on whether that aimed shot is the one that they’ll need to throw a super DR’d incap into so the healer can top them back up stuffing any momentum we’ve created.
The playstyle can be so slow outside of rapid fire, that it’s often a better strat to not CC the healer, and stagger all CC categories into preventing the hunter from being able to contribute during kill windows and just winning because the hunter will have a defensive CD rotational gap that most specs don’t with how turtle works.
I’d like to see them re-evaluate reg Aimed Shots cast time since it’s regulated by a CD. Steady Shot instant cast to make the Conc PvP talent far more valuable. Possible rework of Trueshot, buff to Calling the Shots, and/or base CD down to 90 seconds. Feels wrong only having 1 major offensive DPS CD at a very predictable 2 minutes, for every melee to save stuns, disarms, and soft CC’s to stuff aimeds/rapids while most dps have multiple CDs to find kill potential during a win condition.
All in all though, marksman feels manageable against other ranged comps. Against mages it feels strong, and wizard cleaves it’s an underdog but manageable. Need to find a way to deal with the weird interaction between how slow it plays outside of trueshot and how melee run it over IMO.
you cant tell if a class is good or not in bg’s… its litteraly open field with infinite kiting, potions and stuff. you have to do arena to feel how the class perform. the dmg is really good with the recent buff to mm but our suviviability is the worst in the game. its still very strong but lack suviviability
To WHOM does it mean nothing? That is the question!
Because as someone who racked 10k honorable kills in cities, I want to know who disregards the MM class/spec’s true power. Whether it’s in BGs or it’s the down-and-dirty urban, not just any class/spec can kill quite like that.
“Well, I submit to you that whoever wrote that memo has never faced the working end of a Soviet-made Cuban AK-47 assault rifle.” --Col. Nathan Jessep
I was attributing a famous movie quote to say that whoever said that MM was nothing never really faced the WORKING end of MM. And I mean the REAL deal, not this clean and pristine place called Arena. You have to have seen A Few Good Men, no?
They’re clean and pristine because you know what the comp is before the encounter starts. It’s fair warning and fair time to adjust. In BGs and WPvP, it’s much more ambiguous, though in BGs you can adjust to what’s out there quicker. MM thrives on the unknown; the prey is not supposed to know when the hunter will strike.
This was something the Rogues had forever, but a big difference is that Hunter doesn’t have all of the Gucci CDs that protect Rogues in that role. So yes, Hunters are best at ganking. Sorry-not-sorry I said it; if you want to be a honest stealther there’s still Rogue and Druid to pick.
Turn on war mode and do the pvp quests in the zone for sparks of life.
It gets pretty crazy. I’ve had days where me and another player both get punted off the cliff in Ohnara with the ducks, and we both pop gliders, then fight to the death on the way down.
