A new low! Pet tames gated?

I mean this really is the lowest i ever thought Blizz could sink. Gating hunter pet tames behind Heroic Raids! We really have to try and do Heroic Zul to get the Tome to take Blood Beasts?

That really is a new low Blizz, when theres so many hunter mains in this game, you just gave yet another reason for a good amount of players to just give up on you people already.

Hos sadistic and sad. It really is a new LOW for this company!

Uh it’s a reward… it’s not necessary to play the game. So it’s a heroic drop. Lots of people will start farming for it soon enough when they figure it out. Calling that gated is like calling 385 gear gated behind mythic.

TIL heroic raids are scary and a major obstacle for players.

As a hunter, I could care less about this pet or how to tame it. But if I did, I wouldn’t whine about it being “hard” to get. I would see it as a point of pride to be able to have a pet that apparently some people just don’t have the talent to obtain.

I guess it’s not that bad considering it’s the first raid of this expansion. Would’ve been fine if it was just a rare drop on farmable mobs like dinos.

Is this how low we’ve gotten? Any time something isn’t given right away or easily available it’s suddenly gated? This is pathetic, people.

Can you possibly cry harder over something that isn’t necessary in the slightest? Damn.

Listen. Breathe. Do as I say:

  1. On Tuesday, start a group under BFA raid finder titled, “QUICK H Uldir Clear, 8/8M lead”
  2. Wait for hundreds of 380+ raiders to pile into the queue
  3. Accept 2 tanks, 4 healers, and 9 DPS to be safe.
  4. Watch as these veteran players carry you to Zul with little to no direction

I seriously don’t understand how people can be so inept at this game. I geared my 330 rogue using this tactic.

Everything is gated by something it seems.

The crux of the issue here is that “gating” has become such an over used trigger word that people can find any reason to use it and apply it to whatever isn’t agreing with them personally.

It’s called “doing content for rewards”. The word gating has lost all meanings it’s become so over used.

You have to remember that the game no longer encourages you to talk to another person for any reason at all until you’re level 120 and about ilvl 340 or so. So many players get to that point without a single idea how the social systems work in this game, and never ever learn them, and are terrified of ever having to group with people non automatically.

What’s next, will they limit mounts to raid kills? What about loot!? The sky is falling!

for real. All i ever see is people complaining about gating now… like it’s been in the game for the entire lifespan of wow.

Totally understand this, and in my opinion is half the reason the game is in the current state its in. This is the real reason I hate LFR/LFG, not because I’m “elitist” but because it takes the MMO out of WoW. Blizzard has actually cultivated a safe space for these kinds of reclusive people and actively panders to them. People that have a panic attack when they receive whispers. Like an overbearing mother who has a shut-in son and instead of encouraging him to self-improve and do things that scare him, she just coddles him and brings him hotpockets to his door.

A game can’t be rewarding when everyone gets a participation medal.

Seriously. I can give some credit to the flying complaints, pathfinder 2 does need to show up earlier than it is but everything else… it’s like people dont play WoW.

As someone who got into legit raiding from LFR I don’t entirely agree.

My favorite little feature is allowing everyone to tag any mob in the open world. Now if you do happen to come across the one other soul leveling in the zone you’re in there isn’t even a reason to party with them.

It’s like they’ve internationally made every possible situation where you’d learn to make friends in this game impossible. Open world? Gone. Leveling dungeons? Gone. Need an Enchant? Gone. Early end game progression? Gone.

And now a good 50% of the playerbase are silent 1000 member guilds who are horrified by the idea of running an m0.

I’m not saying people like you don’t exist, I’m just saying that there should be better alternatives to motivating non-raiders to give raiding a chance apart from LFR.

When you can get to the final boss of an expansion without uttering a single word to another player in an MMO, surely you can agree that there is a serious design flaw there. I don’t have the answer to this problem, but I know for a fact there is one.

Think that’s what the AotC mounts are for. Should be more incentive but removing LFR/G is far from a good idea.
