Nestled within the snow-capped mountains, north of Durnholde Keep, one might encounter the entrance to Ravenholdt Manor, a strategic base of operations for a guild of assassins, infiltrators, and thieves who welcome those with extraordinary prowess into it’s fold.
Who are we?
Ravenholdt is a niche role play guild with the emphasis on dismantling anyone who threatens the prosperity of the Eastern Kingdoms. We are a neutral faction that is open to all races. Our main headquarters, situated in Alterac Mountains, serves as a training ground and a distribution center for contracts and rewards. Members of Ravenholdt are experts in the field of intelligence, stealth combat, assassination, espionage, and resource gathering. We can operate in plane sight or in the shadows, anywhere across the land.
Which classes may join?
Although we are primarily a rogue and hunter faction, in the realm of RP, classes aren’t usually cut and dry. We allow any class to join, given the circumstances of how one portrays their character. For example, a warrior may join if they aren’t the boisterous type who wears hulking plate armor and roars at enemy lines. A mage can join if they don’t cast any bright spells in the field. Shadow priests can be helpful because rogues draw their abilities from the shadows. The possibilities are endless. The goal here is to operate quietly without drawing any unwanted attention.
Is RP mandatory?
Above all else, we value freedom of choice. We naturally except members to be working together in creating plots and contributing to growth, but members are encouraged to pursue their own personal interests outside of the group. We won’t force anyone to participate in our ventures.
How does one join OOCly?
The best way to join is by using the guild finder system in-game. Just give a brief description of your character when sending the application.
How does one join ICly?
In order to join officially join, a character will go through a quick interview whenever they are ready. We won’t rush anyone. Completion of the interview will grant their first IC rank.
Background Story
Prior to the First War, the area of the manor belonged to the kingdom of Alterac, hence the orange colored roof. Later on, it would be ruled by the human noble, Lord Jorach Ravenholdt. For decades, he trained many of the greatest rogues in the arts of subtlety and diversion, it became the hallmark of his guild, the Assassin’s League.
The league was diametrically opposed to the Syndicate, a criminal organization led by villainous nobles of Alterac,
Hillsbrad Foothills, and Arathi Highlands. The population of the Syndicate dwindled over the years ever since the assassination of their leader, Lord Falconcrest. But even with their numbers reduced, they remained a possible threat. Information was gathered that the Syndicate were being influenced, even to this day, by the warlocks of the Shadow Council thus making them influenced by the Burning Legion.
An ordeal with Wrathion and the Red Dragonflight took place during the Second Sundering (Cataclysm), Ravenholdt Manor was burned. It was also revealed that Grand Master Fahrad, secondary leader of the guild, was a Black Dragon in disguise and was then assassinated. The manor was left in a poor condition, many of its members either perished or left to serve Wrathion as ‘Blacktalon Agents’ during the Pandaria Campaign. Despite the drawback, Lord Ravenholdt continued to lead the guild for years after, rebuilding the network into its former state.
In the Third Invasion of the Burning Legion, Jorach Ravenholdt was summoned to Dalaran where he gave rise to a new regiment known as The Uncrowned, “the slayers of kings, the downfall of empires, the unseen blades that write the true history of this world.”
Since then, the manor has become a training headquarters for rogues and the like. The guild was expanded with a headcount of over two hundred and fifty members, most of them go unseen. In that aspect, the territory above ground appears the same, but they’ve managed to build a vast network of underground passageways that resurface into various pockets of Alterac, Hillsbrad, Tirisfal Glades, Western Plaguelands, the Hinterlands, and Arathi Highlands.
