A mythic difficulty timewalking boss

I’d like timewalking events to give us at least one boss that has been tuned for normal, heroic, and mythic difficulty and drop gear/crests respective to its difficulty.

I don’t need Blizz to devote dev time into tuning up an entire raid, but say for example, if it’s Cata we get mythic Ragnaros. Or Wrath gets us mythic Arthas. And they’re legitimately difficult bosses that have that feeling of progression and reward, something guilds want to schedule for.

The bosses can even stay after the event is over, until the next major patch.

That would be amazing. There is a problem however:

They would have to tweak the code internally and externally for proper compatibility. We’re on an updated engine now. And the engine used in WotLK or Cata is very, VERY different.

It also would be hard. Your best best to tackle those bosses at a hard difficulty, and I don’t mean to diss, is play Classic.

Sometimes the Timewalking raids are scaled up in difficulty.

I don’t know if you were around for the anniversary raid but it was the first Timewalking raid people were comparing to mythic difficulty bosses (right at the start).

I joined a ‘no leaver have all day’ raid and probably some of the most fun I’ve had because you started respecting the heck out of the mechanics. Moria was particularly scary.

But content like that won’t be liked by the vast majority of the people that enjoy time walking. They want something easy and they nerfed the crap out of BRD.

Markets too small for what you’re after but I’d like it!

Play Classic, there’s now way they ever balance this for retail.

Can you still use old legendary weapons or are they weak now? Been meaning to test but keep forgetting

The audience for this idea is guilds who would benefit from integrating these bosses into their raid nights because it’s actually strong loot worth devoting raid time into.

I didn’t do the timewalking raid, so idk how accurate it is to say it was mythic difficulty. Assuming it was indeed the equivalent to mythic, it didn’t have mythic quality loot to match, so of course I’m not going to do it. I need mythic loot for mythic difficulty.

I think it’s a cool idea, tho I don’t know if they’d be willing to rework the fights to be mythic. I’d definitely play this if it was available!

All old get like that such as tier sets, artifacts, legendaries has there effects disabled in timewalking and has for a while now.

Made me sad used to pull out the old deathwing daggers on my rogue and go ham lol.

I would prefer if this didn’t drop BiS pieces like timewalking M+ used to, so you don’t have a window of a few weeks to get the optimal gear on your character or your character stays weaker for several months. But I think this would be fun, to have a timewalking single-boss raid version on all raid difficulties. It would also be puggable content if there’s only one boss, because there’s no lockout until the first boss in a group is killed.

Would probably work if they made time walking mythic fights for specific end bosses that stay there forever and only offered mog rewards like in ff14 ultimate fights that come around once a year or something. But are one hundred percent only for bragging rights.

I think the boss should stay even after the timewalking event is over. If Sulfuras happens to be your BiS weapon, Ragnaros will always be there for you to get it.

I think it’d be cool for a timewalking boss to offer unique loot and Blizzard not take the boss away.

No, I don’t want to do old content.

But the problem with that, people have to kill Ragnaros.

I’m sorry if that’s a problem for you.

Yes, it’s a problem for me.

I’m not playing classic for a reason.

Eh, already kill Ragnaros 3 times a week. 1 in MC, 2x in Firelands.

We just had Wrath classic, which was on a fork of the 9.x SL client, and they got heroic LK working there.

If they wanted to bring back full heroic LK, some of the work has already been done form them.

But the bigger problem with old fights coming into retail is the differences in class and systems design.

The biggest problems with BRD TW raid was using a fixed raid size (so guilds running heroic with more or less than 20 players couldn’t run their raid team) along with crappy rewards (most gear was poorly optimized or had poor scaling on procs / cantrips) which made the time spent feel wasted.

No thanks. I did this content once, I do not want to have to prog mythic Lich King for literally no reason.

Then by all means don’t do it and just play as you’re currently playing. I won’t tell you otherwise.

You going to group twenty people for a single boss?

There’s also zero ways to make timewalking bosses actually mythic level difficult.

Majority of people aren’t going to prog a si bf r boss so your idea is pretty bad.
