A murder of crows is no longer available to Survival hunters. This is one of my favourite abilities and I would like to see it accessible to all specs in dragonflight. We have had the spell in one form or another since cataclysm, over 10 years and we have never had it interact with another skill or talent. I’m hoping the developers move this talent to the class tree and make it more integrated with our class. Here is two examples of improvements that would make it a really attractive choice for almost all forms of game play.
A Murder of Crows
Talent
30 Focus 40 yd range
Instant cast 1 min cooldown
2/2 Charges
Summons a flock of crows to attack your target, dealing [(23% of Attack power) * 16] Physical damage over 15 sec. Kill shot resets the cooldown of A Murder of Crow.
Charges will really help A Murder of Crows because, due to the way the reset mechanic works, you have to wait 1 min to use it again or press it late and fail to get the full damage. You could stack both charges on a target for extra execute damage but you would risk no having it reset for the next mob/ player. The kill shot reset would also help keep the spell available to cast. Every spec has a talent to get kill commands into a rotation outside of execute range and I think these changes would have a lot of fun interactions.
OR
An Unkindness of Ravens
Talent
30 Focus 40 yd range
Instant cast 1 min cooldown
Summon a number of ravens, equal to there critical strike chance, that circles over the hunters head for 60 seconds. The ravens will attack any creature below 50% health for [(25% of Attack power)] Physical damage. The ravens can only attack a target every 1 second. Bleed damage within 40 yards of the hunter have a 10% chance to summon an additional raven.
I like this second version because it would pair will with master marksman and it gives BM an bit of a buff because of it’s passive +5% crit. Also, every specialisation has some form of bleed mechanic to help summon more ravens. It’s balanced with the first one by having a longer functional cooldown, only one change and it can only be used in limited hp ranges. Unlike the original version, the damage from this would be more dependently delivered to targets with low hp.
Who else loves A Murder of Crows and wants to see more of it?
