Midnight Carnival: 10 years, and counting

Full post, including links, on our site at: midnightcarnival dot wowlaunch dot com

As always, Midnight Carnival is built on respect and friendship.

Above all else we want all our members to have fun while we assist them in learning their class, their spec, how to use and play the game, and how to be the best them possible in a supportive, non judgmental environment. Players are encouraged to ask questions of every kind and never feel they will be insulted when the answer is given.

Member Expectations

You are a representative of Midnight Carnival. Therefore, all guild members are expected to:

  • be respectful and supportive of others
  • be a positive contributor to the progression and health of our guild
  • refrain from making vulgar, sexual, religious or political comments in all “chats” and Discord
  • be polite, punctual and prepared for guild events

Guild Expectations: Shadowlands Expansion

The end of the Battle For Azeroth expansion hit our guild hard. Many people either stopped playing WoW altogether, or jumped ship for greener pastures, chasing shiny things. As a result we have a lot of rebuilding to do. To that end, the plan for Shadowlands isn’t going to be exactly the same as expansions past. We intend to:

  • Rebuild the Raid team, and resume Softcore Raiding
  • Rebuild the player base to include new and returning members of all skill levels.
  • Designate new management with defined roles and consistent reliability.
  • Have more lively guild chat, and more coordinated Calendar events to rally participation
  • Have some damn fun.

How will that pan out?

1. Management will be changing.

Officers will be reset for the Shadowlands Expansion, so they can choose to apply if they still want the job, or just sit it out and relax this expansion. New officers will have a defined role and duties description.

To be an officer you must demonstrate the Guild’s Mission Statement in all interactions with others and uphold the Guild Rules & Code of Conduct. You must be fair minded, reliable, and be prepared for a lot of whining. So much whining. Just always refer back to the rules and you’ll be fine.

Think you demonstrate Leadership Qualities? Prove it , and maybe you’ll get the chance.

2. People looking to join the Raid Team should prepare themselves to do so

Prepare yourself with the Raid Forums including listed rules and expectations, Boss strategies, and when you meet the gearing requirements, fill out the Shadowlands - Raid Rules and Application (subject to change). Remember this is a dedicated raid team, not a Casual raid team. If you can’t commit to posted dates/times it’s best to wait until you can.

We will try to fill the first 10 spots with in guild characters to count towards our progression. After that we will gladly incorporate friends from other servers, and possible start a server transfer fund, if there is enough interest.

3. Rebuilding the Roster

With the end of the expansion, many people gave up on WoW entirely. With the new expansion people will be looking to return.

We need people. Recruitment will be essential and encouraged by all current members. Anyone listed as a “Member” can invite people to the guild.

Est’d 2010: We are an EVERYTHING guild looking for fun, friendly, helpful people. Perfect for new players, returning players, casual players, raiders(N/H) & all your alts. PST for Invite.

Anyone who screams in gen chat that they’re looking for a guild is probably and immature and bad fit. Look for people that ask respectfully and state they’re learning, returning, new to the game, or casual. Those are our people.

4. Coordinated Guild Events

Some of the best Guild memories we have are coordinated nonsense. Raiding Orgrimmar to get the guild achievement, Creepjackers… Naked Gurubashi Arena brewls… Gnomish Death Races… Transmog/Achievement runs.

We’re looking to recapture that magic. As the guild gets more active, in addition to leveling and dungeon groups, nonsense events for S&G’s will start to appear on the calendar. Show up, have some fun! Eventually these events hope to include casual raid groups, M+ runs, etc. But we’d like to keep it fun.

5. Website/Internet presence Restructuring

We’ll start updating/rearranging the website, the forums, and various other social media to reflect changes. You’ll see information that’s no longer relevant as these are updated. Pardon our dust while we make corrections.

Shadowlands content posts will appear when the Beta is more solid and drop is imminent. Currently we can be found on the web at:

  • Website
  • Facebook
  • YouTube
  • Twitch
  • Discord
  • WoW Progress

That’s it guys, I hope to see all your smiling faces soon and get this whole process started. Come home! See you real soon.
