A method to relearning classic recipes

Currently there is no way to learn some classic recipes after you may have learned them before and then abandoned the profession. (ie ones that were from one time only quests). We have had methods such as in legion to relearn all of our old recipes from that expac from buying an item off the profession trainer.

Would it be possible to add a vendor or some way of relearning classic recipes we have learned in the past but are unable to relearn now?

The main example for me is the Onyxia Scale Cloak leatherworking recipe is currently unobtainable if you have turned her head in prior to learning leatherworking or if you have learned it but then dropped the profession. I have contacted GMs and they have said they are unable to reset the quest or let me relearn this recipe.

I understand there are limitations however with the age of this game and the age of our main characters for some of us learning and unlearning professions has been something you do to min max yourself in the past. Maybe I am wrong but I believe there should be a way for collectors to regain patterns like this.

TLDR: make a way for collectors to relearn old profession patterns they have learned in the past available to relearn from one time or limited time quests.

Well, actually we dont have that at all.

Those books only relearn recipes attained as quest rewards from the quests you previously did in Legion. You do not relearn recipes purchased from a vendor, looted as drops or taught from the trainer.

The “relearn” books of legion only exist because you cant do the same quest more than once as they arent repeatable and the bulk of recipes in that expac were quest related which is the complete opposite of vanilla and most every other expansion.

Blizzard is more then happy for you to go out and farm the recipe drops you once had all over again.

The very few recipes in vanilla rewarded from quests can be restored by a GM request ticket. Ive had that done myself after they verified the quest was completed by my character, that I didnt have the recipe and I explained that I switched professions. That applies to recipes learned directly as a quest reward and not learned from an item that was a quest reward. A clickable item falls under item restoration and you are defaulted to the self restore service for that.

Would be nice to also make available recipes in the game that were removed entirely so that if you did drop a profession you did not lose that collection of now lost recipes in the process.

Can’t you repeat quests with party sync?

I would really like to be able to learn outland recipes that are dropped as loot - but because outland is now grouped into Classic crafting, i can’t learn it :frowning:

I agree to all that is being said. I recently dropped Jewelcrafting to pick back up my old blacksmithing profession. Have an open ticket to see if I can get the ironforge breastplate pattern back since I can’t do the quest again… going to be a real pain if I have to do that for every single recipe… like Sulfuron hammer and all that.

Come on Blizz, its 20204!

Whoa, an 18,000 year necro.

It’s ALIVE! Alive I tell ya!
