You dont spend time farming, you just spend time leveling FOUR characters to 25. Speaking of math not mathing, this implies each of those four pots award you a minimum of ~19g. So the total spent in those runs is about 200g(if you factor in host cut). Those big pots are driven by gold buying whales while you leech on your 4 characters to get a piece of their rmt.
The obvious answer is to just ban the bots and gold buyers, but the ripple effect of that is there are less whales spending mass amounts of gold on the big ticket items making pots smaller. Less bots means consumables go up in price by a huge margin. All of a sudden the “legit” players bottom line gets hit and GDKP becomes far less profitable and attractive.
Blizzard has already made it clear they cant win the arms race against bots / wont invest in the manpower to really make a dent in it. This move decentivizes gold buying in general because without being able to swipe their way to epics, what is the point of buying huge amounts of gold?
tl;dr gdkp ban is based and leeches/admins/swipers malding and im here for it.

Because you don’t. Nobody has 3k good sitting around from working hard in game. They buy it. They lie about buying it. They gaslight you into some crazy story about how they cornered the leather market and made bank.
In reality they swiped their credit card, bought chinese farmed gold and payed their way to bis.
When you call them out eventually they give in and say stuff like “I don’t have the time to sit there and farm!” Or “It’s so cheap you’re an idiot for NOT buying gold!”

There will always be a demand for gold. people want that epic mount and don’t want to farm. where are they going to get it?

the demand is there. blizzard is the one taking roundabout steps to the problem.

Who would put their CC number and information into a Russian or foreign website to purchase gold. That just reeks of credit card and identity theft potential.
If I were a betting person, I’d bet that over 3/4 of them have had credit card fraud on the same cards they have swiped for gold on.

I mean, there is no danger with credit card fraud the bank will just reverse and ur good. I hope no1 is putting their debit card or linking their bank account on the site tho thats different lol
U can also just use paypal which has zero risk.
I guess they don’t use their own credit cards though, normally their mum or her boyfriends if they have done their chores.
I can assure you there is less chance of me getting hacked and defrauded going to pay blizzard on their website than there is bestluckyrussiangolddreamhackertakeyourmoney_dot_com.
There are practices and standards for taking transactions that contain both PII and PCI in the US. That is not the case in China, Russia and other places.
Remember, if the bank thinks you are too much of a risk (ie: way too many fraud reverse charges, etc) they can/will fire you as a customer.
If my son or daughter did that, it would not turn out well for them.

I don’t know about all that. Most people I’ve seen come from gdkp’s are online all the time and play the game a lot.
I’m just saying, screw that. I don’t want to farm at all. I just want to gamble and hope i get lucky. No need to play the game more than that.
I do, that’s why I don’t buy gold and then cope about how I don’t use it for GDKP, just for other items in the game.
