Everything that anyone does in the game affects everyone in the game, by virtue of altering the course of its future development. Believing your experience is isolated and not affected by people you don’t play with or play like is childish and naive.
This is why world firsts and realm firsts were removed from the Achievement system…because of the cheats…exploits that happen now so easily and most players just shrug it off …
While an hour is pretty extreme, people have been hitting max level on launch night for a while now.
It hasn’t been since classic. Just so happens that you can go back.
I think the last time I seen anyone actually carea bout World or Realm first levels was back in Wrath

Yea screw that noise. Leveling is the worst part of new expansions. The worst. For the average person it takes ALOT longer than 1 hour. And it takes way too damn long - enough so that people are already selling afk boosts

Leveling is a bit of an antiquated system anyhow. So many other more efficient ways this could be done and is being done across the gaming industry.
You just sound like a really old person complaining about how bad it is now and how much better things used to be.

I mean technically leveling should be quicker this expansion given we get an exp buff every time you level an alt. You can pretty much level in three hours just dungeon spamming as well.
Thing is, modern retail wow revolves all around grinding. Grinding stuff in the world, grinding M+ Dungeons, grinding Raids… the good level up experiences are long past.
My only issue with levelling is the Dorn story felt poorly paced, like there were more introductory quests we were supposed to have done (yes, I read quest text, and yes, I know the Earthen storyline likely covers it, but you need to do Dorn First.)
After leveling a few toons, I’m ready for a bonus to make it go quicker. It’s not like once you hit 80, you are done with the grind anyway. There’s gear, valor stones and crests to grind if you want to do group content.
To me leveling is pointless now days i don’t know why we even have it tbh, blizz just try to skip us to max asap every time.
I hate leaving I just want to be able to get to end game and play.
I don’t care about quest story telling I just read the objective.
You got your Ulda cheeves 2 years after the raid opened so you could cheese them wym
at least the first character should be like slow! then the other ones who cares xD…
but you are right… i missed the actual accomplishment and i ended up lvling to 80 with 1 full zone and half of the other, plus campaign. i feel bad for that… i left alot of secondary quests. D=
Well, there ya go, patch incoming to make it more longer to get to 80! Just the way it should be!

I’m level 76 and I haven’t yet completed Isle of Dorn.
I remember hitting 70 as I wrapped up Shadowmoon Valley, 80 as I quested through Icecrown - the design philosophy was definitely different back then. Reaching level cap felt like a huge accomplishment because it was designed to be so.
I was annoyed to begin with about the rapid pileup of levels - I will hit 80 before I even go down the Coreway to the Ringing Deeps, but I realized it doesn’t actually matter. I’m still going to do all the quests and all the zones regardless of my level.
Now, players who don’t enjoy questing can hit 80 relatively fast and get right into the power-building they play the game for, while those who enjoy the RPG element can travel through the adventure at our own pace and get to instanced content whenever we do.
I think its all a win-win for the game.
what nonsense is this comment. I’ve gone through so much old content over and over again, it would make your head spin.
Someone got to 80 in 1 hour, you said a dungeon can be completed in 10-15mins. Lets take the bottom end of that, so they can do 6 dungeons in an hour.
You think 6 dungeons are getting you 70-80?
