Alright Bina I hammered it out a bit more in the Noble’s ranking info tell me if that is better?

As far as the military and everything else goes I tried to let everything have as much structure as it needed to qualify for ‘noble houses’ and how they typically function while giving each house all the room in the world to customize their experience.

UPDATES PEOPLE UPDATES!

-We have established a guild name < The Consortiums>

-We collaborated a guild tabard

-We have gained 9 new members, and one of them had about 6 level 120s……that’s a pretty epic amount of alts……at least in my opinion.

-One of our glorious members has decided to create a family crest and coat of arms for EVERY noble house that comes about within our ranks. As a noble you would describe how you would want your family crest designed, animals, colors, flowers, symbols, whatever you want if it’s not a sex organ other than the saxophone. (No, you do not have to have a saxophone in your crest lol)) Same thing per house for the coat of arms but for each noble house’s military. This will be another way for guildies to customize their experience. These House Crests and Coats of arms will go above each house description and military description as a feature in our guild’s future website.

-Our discord server is ready (already a member join? while it’s hot! Mmmm smells fresh!^^)

-We will be setting up our ranks in the next few days, we are still hashing these out. However, members do currently have guild repairs.

-This guild is currently still new if you join up, please be aware we are still early in the guild forming process so a lot of details are still being decided upon by the group as a whole so if you have ideas for the guild please let us know here or in-game. Our guild is currently OOC because we have to hash everything out Out of character before we can set up anything IC. However, we do RP already most days or are willing to do something together when your bored until everything is set up. -Guild banking system to be revised and guild website to be under construction

-Finally, we will be having a “Grand Opening” event sever wide on the alliance side to celebrate the progress we have made by that point out of character as a guild and the beginning of our dive into in character heavy content as a guild. This will mean written out storylines, events, and even more RP!
This event’s date, time, and details will be announced on: March 18th 2020
It will be announced here, in trade chat, on the gnews, and of course have it’s own thread. So make sure to check back here for future details.

Hey no problem! Well House Dawford is mainly going to be centered around engineering, creating political influence, and the pursuit of knowledge to help others and ourselves. What kind of roll were you thinking for yourself in the guild Bina?

Jokes aside, your proposition this time 'round sounds much more well thought out and agreeable. I’d be willing to give this a shot, and my offer to play DM still stands. I kind of like the idea of a group of various minor nobles from across the faction joining up to form what is effectively a professional private army for the greater faction.
Personal ideas; Diplomat would be an IC rank as well. While yes, they fill the same roles as the Noble, basically it’d be like a High Council or First Founders thing. While they don’t exactly wield more power over the Guild, to keep the idea of an equal alliance between all the various Houses who’ve thrown their lott in, their word may carry a bit more weight for consideration. As for their other duty, true to the title, the Diplomats would be in charge of being the representatives of the Guild as a whole when dealing with other Guilds or the various factions.

I would also advise making the rankings lean more twords a military setup than a house one. As while the members would be free to join whichever house they wish, and there will always be disparity between the weight of the houses sheerly due to PC preference, the point of the guild isn’t about the friction or competition between the houses that make up the Guild, as said before ala GoT, but a joint effort to help The Alliance in areas that the main army can’t. Be it for political or logistical reasons. As such, having the ranks be more focused on the joint “army” would fit more with the overriding narrative. While the various Houses can still hold the underlying smaller narratives.
Sort of like how allot of merc guilds are divided up into “This is the Fighters, this is the Mages, this is the Healers, this is the people we don’t trust with weapons.” ect, but as houses instead. “This is the Balethorn Faction, this is the Dawford Faction, this is the Penance Faction.” ect.
But, keeping that as the underlying narritives, will while not nessessarily eliminate, but help the inevitable “power balance” issue. As while RP wise anyone rp’ing a Noble can say they have X territory with Y servants and G soldiers, unless people feel like making 40,000 alts to actually represent that… It’s better to keep that as a background thing unless a PC explicitly wants to be the Steward or Chamberlain of the Marrgrave House. So that the people who want to play Nobles won’t feel jealous or slighted that they only have say 4 or 5 people wanting to play under their house while Jimbob Mc’Swaggins over there has 42 because he has some fancy pants and his last name is Mc’Swaggins.

As for anything else; I’d say that Diplomats should be reserved for those whome want to be a “Dungeon Master” and put in the time and effort into events and story-lines. Nobles should be for “officers” who can put forth events, but aren’t expected/obligated too.

Oh wow, thats a very unique goal for a noble house! I wonder if they got their nobility from some important invention your character’s ancestor invented that greatly helped the kingdom?

I was planning on waiting to see what noble houses others came up with and see if any of them would be a good fit for my characters.

If I were to start a noble house of my own though it would probably be one of the houses in the court of the late Emperor Thaurissan of the Dark Iron. Like many dark irons since joining the alliance her house would be seeking to prove themselves worthy of the Alliance’s trust and to make up for the wrongs of the past.

I think her house would specialize in the unique form of shamanism the dark iron learned from their years enslaved by Ragnaros and his elementals. So they would be interesting in contributing to the alliance using any arts that directly benefit from invoking fire, from blacksmithing to cooking.

Oh no, her family was murdered in attack she’s still trying to understand as a whole. When they were she was very young, and was wisped away by her father’s oldest and most trusted friend, a bronzebeard Dwarf. His name was Floki BrewKeg and he and his wife Glodus Brewkeg and they were dwarvish mead distillers. Spending their time fueling the drinking machine that is ironforge with jolly bellies warm with Cherry Grog.
They raised Alice in a warm and happy home, leaving her free to pursue her studies in engineering with the gnomish trainers.

She grew into quite young brimming Lass as she aged like a fine wine. Her engineering skills became sharpened by the wet stone that is knowledge and as she got older the more curious she was. The more curious she got the more reckless and tenacious she became to answer the questions she had. Thus she decided to pursue a career in engineering, who cares about risk what ya have inquiries to fulfill?

All puns aside, you should strike while the iron is HOT and jump into being a noble. It would be good for us to have a dwarf noble house within our ranks, let alone a dark iron would make for some story lines with some FLARE, I’m sure.

Also, I was wondering what it was like to be a dark iron shaman? Do the elements refuse you more than other shamans? Are you particularly stronger with the fire element and the other elements dislike you? Do all of them work the same for you as other shamans? How would you have that be a key element in your noble house? Like how would it be put into action in your cause?
