How do I access a log of players I’ve previously LFG’d with that I can easily add to an ignore list? I like timewalking and I think there’s some kind of multibox farming technique that’s leading to people getting kicked when the last boss is almost dead. A kick should never give deserter status either.
To answer some of your concerns…
- There is no such log that I know of.
- There’s no tin foil conspiracy of multiboxing.
- The deserter debuff is the lesser of two evils and was implemented three months after the VTK system went live, because people were harassing groups, griefing them, and holding groups hostage until they were kicked from the group, because they didn’t want the debuff. So the debuff had to be introduced to group finder.
This leads us to a couple of ideas for changes that people have come up with:
- Reduce the debuff timer to 15 minutes to align with how long it actually takes to run a dungeon nowadays, because it no longer takes a half hour.
- Put a 5 second countdown on the “yes” button, so that people actually pay attention to what’s going on instead of mindlessly hitting yes.
Well this is a fun new spin on the same old spam.
Nah when all names include bank or farm and they’re all from the same low-pop servers there’s something going on. Imagine gaslighting others over video game forums online lol.
This I haven’t witnessed in all of my Timewalking running. But there’s also no rule against multiboxing. Keep in mind that if it’s a premade group, it takes four votes to kick someone. You’ll need to report any suspicious bot behavior while in the dungeon.
… no one is gaslighting you. What?
Did you just tell me “2. There’s no tin foil conspiracy of multiboxing” and then “But there’s also no rule against multiboxing” and then say no one is gaslighting? Ego or comprehension?
Maybe someone will chime in with an addon to make it easier for the tanks of timewalking to mass ignore clowns.
What is preventing you from putting them on ignore while you’re in the group?
Correct. Because we haven’t seen nor heard of any mass reports concerning people multiboxing LFD.
Telling you that multiboxing isn’t against the rules has nothing to do with that fact.
And no, no one is gaslighting you.
What about a system with… ::gasp:: NO desserter debuff? Radical idea, I know. But maybe if you didn’t punish people for leaving, DBs wouldn’t hold groups hostage until kicked to avoid it? Maybe there’s no reason to punish people for leaving since in-progress groups are at the top of the queue, and another <Insert Role Here, yes, even Tanks> will be along very shortly. Maybe it doesn’t even matter because all queueable content is trivialized and doesn’t really need a proper 1/1/3 group?
Lmao you crazy OP
If kicked there should be no debuff but keep it for those who leave of their own free will.
Who is “we”? Is we the company currently losing subs or the ones prowling the forums instead of playing the game? I don’t know “we” from Adam bud. I’ve seen the same complaint I raised all over these forums getting shot down by “We”.
The forums, Twitter, Reddit, Wowhead, Icyveins, etc. have not seen mass reports of multiboxing issues in LFD.
Since you only seem to be here to condescend, then there’s no reason to attempt a logical, mature conversation with you.
Have a better day.
Okay guy who represents the whole of the internet lol…
Do you ever actually contribute or is it always literal spam?
I may have to, although I hate to break a groups cantor while we do our timewalking.
Probably the easiest way to have a list of the players you group with is to use Details and have server names turned on. Then you can ignore all those evil multi boxers that are apparently out to get you and only you after the dungeon.
Alright young one. Let me educate you on some WoW history.
Once upon a time there was an expansion called Wrath and later in the expansion of Wrath there was a feature rolled out to people called “Looking for Group” or “LFG” for short.
LFG was a revolutionary feature because it allowed players to get into dungeon groups without hoping to be picked from a crowd of people if they just waited their turn. It was marvelous really. This feature also had increased rewards for players who picked a random dungeon!
But all was not perfect in the land of Azeroth for there were those afflicted with a malady called badness and laziness and certain dungeons would make them REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE a most fearsome cry and so if queuing for a random dungeon and getting one they did not like and/or they sucked at (Oculus cause vehicles are hard yo), which comes with the understanding that if you pick a random dungeon, you have to accept playing whatever dungeon the game picked for you. they instead would REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE their cry of the bad and not participate in the dungeon and demanded they be kicked.
“But why would they want to be kicked?” you meekly ask knowing nothing of ancient lore. Verily I say to thee that indeed once upon a time one did not get a deserter debuff when kicked from a dungeon thus the baduals would protest getting a random dungeon by not playing until kicked so they then could just queue again and hopefully get something else while making the group wait even longer than they already have! Verily these were annoying times.
And what’s worse is this continued and magnified grossly in the Cataclysm expansion with the initial dungeons (and general badness of players mixed with MASSIVE tanking and healing fundamental changes) gave the false impression Cata heroics were “hard”…especially noteable ones like Grim Batol so again baduals, especially tanks, would REEEEEEEEEEE and sit at entrances or even more cleverly walk out and go auto attack training dummies to prevent going afk in protest that the RNG gods did not give them the easy dungeons for their “random” queue. On top of this, there became a rise of those afflicted with donkeyhat syndrome with manifested in the desire to intentionally sabatoge groups be pulling lots of stuff the group had no hope to kill knowing they could just get kicked and harass new groups with no impunity.
Woe were those days so indeed almighty Blizzard came down upon the lands and saw that it was…well not good but not totally bad and thus made the insanely wise and just decision to punish those not upholding their end of the implied social contract and kicking now punished deserters. “But wait”, you meekly say expecting to gotcha me (which is impossible), “this means that if one was a left of bell curve they could be kicked for being a sucktard and punished too as one who was trolling or otherwise being a donkeyhat!”
And you would be correct small unknowing one but see there is but one final piece of logic to slam down into that noggin. If one is truly a left of bell curve and kicked for bringing suckitude and being an anchor on a group that would otherwise soar, truly that left of bell curve should take their timeout as a period of reflection to think about the sins they committed and strive to gain knowledge and understanding in hopes of improving upon that which makes them a left of bell curve into becoming the disgustingly low standard that is a proper LFG member.
And so ends this tale and now you understand the deep lore of why things are the way they are. Go forth and be blessed with the free divine knowledge and wisdom bestowed upon you this day.
I always love these threads when the OP shows exactly why they’re getting kicked out of groups within the first few posts.
Young one
You flatter me.
Now allow me to educate you. I’ve been playing since before WotLK and would place bets I’m older than you. Thanks for that long post though.
