A little more hopeful

Recent changes for demo/destro are not bad.

Thank god you backtracked on avatar of destruction a bit, it’s removal was insane.

I’m more satisfied with destro than demo.

Just because there are no 0 double point investments doesn’t mean the spec itself is great.

Demo has lots of cool aesthetics, but in the end a lot of stuff is just do x more damage with this. Let’s be perfectly clear here.

Doom has been improved, grimoire of felguard is a little better. But ultimately it’s not great. It’s certainly not at the level of the ww rework.

The murder of demonic core generation is not forgiven, but at least the last 2 patch notes were not egregious.

Remove pyrogenics, put inferno in it’s place, there really is not reason to have it like this anymore with the change to inferno.

Happy to see the changes to soul fire, especially decimation, they are pretty much what i suggested it seems.

Reset cd on immolate ticks, or incinerate, in this case you went for crit, which probably works better, and reduce the cast time significantly, or even remove it, so i’m happy to see that.

Improved chaos bolt is bad though, and should be integrated into the base ability.

Would you be happy to change the demo rework for the work other classes have gotten?

Because from the outside looking in (I have a lock, but its not my main), the demo rework is easily the best thing they’ve done for this expansion so far.

You have AOE and single target in the same build (with the changes between them basically 2 choice nodes for max effectiveness).

You have cool new puppies, Doom that works and brings back an incredibly strong set bonus, alot of base crit and crit scaling.

Throw in 2 REALLY good hero trees and Demo looks insanely strong and fun.

If Destro turns out as good, the envy from every other class (except MAYBE mages) will be palatable. Affliction will be waiting with baited breath, and every other class will be screaming “but warlocks!!!”.

Sheesh

??

No it isn’t, the demo rework is passable.

How does it even begin to stack up to the ww rework. It doesn’t.

Or yet again, the mage rework, especially fire. It doesn’t.

Look, i don’t know what to tell you.

The majority of the new talents are fluff, they are aesthetically pleasing, but that’s about it.

The meat of the changes are things like doom, which is nice, but nothing particularly impressive either, but before that there were A LOT OF BAD CHANGES so while the recent changes were not awful, they DO NOT make up for what they did before.

Sorry to be the rain cloud on your parade, the demo rework is passable.

Not great, not bad. Just mid at best.

You don’t think Doom and the dogs are impressive additions to your tree and how sleek, streamlined and powerful a tree with good connections and all 1pt nodes is?

Never level that Shaman, you’ll be in for a rough time.

No, i don’t.

The dogs are just aesthetic, they do passive damage, it’s an improved vilefiend, the doom changes are good, but it’s nothing that blows my socks off.

Oh, my parade is in full swing today, rain or no rain. Blizzard is doing exactly what I predicted.

And if you think this is a bad rework, you are a spoiled child who hasn’t played anything else.

Lol, i play 12 classes.

Just get out of here, you’re embarrassing.

This whole post isn’t even negative, at worst it’s neutral, but i’m actually pretty satisfied with the destro changes. So it’s actually somewhat positive.

Sure… nobody believes you.

I don’t really care either way, i don’t need your validation.

Bye Karen. See you never.

I havent played destro alot for me to get a good understanding over what it SHOULD be, but man looking at the new talents I love nearly everything about it.

Favorite part is that you could make a summon-focused build with the overfiends, infernals, and rifts (if you want to count those). Or just stick straight to big damage

Boy am I glad that avatar of destruction is going to stay, I’m surprised that they even allow it to provide soul shard generation now that there are more passive sources of shard generation for destro like the rifts and nearly-instant cast soul fires.

Ngl I was looking forward to getting decimating bolt back. Relive my bone daddy dreams and pray for Fleshcraft even. RIP me.

Chaos Incarnate still needs to be looked at though.

Avatar without soul shard gen would be irrelevant.

That’s what makes it fun, that’s what contributes to the flow.

No soul shard, no avatar.

Are we slower? Do bolts hit hard again?

No, and no thanks.

If anything it’s faster.

I’d argue the fun part of Avatar of Destruction was calling down an infernal that stunned enemies, which the new version lacks. Sure, the shard generation is still there, but it just feels a touch underwhelming in comparison to the old version. Plus, an ‘Overfiend’, even if it casts Chaos Bolt, doesn’t necessarily feel like Destro-themed?

there are alot of talents that makes our casting quicker for incinerate and chaos bolt. Funnily enough those same talents also increase the damage of those respective spells

The new tree is interesting, it has multiple paths for the various capstones which could be interesting based on how they read.

One thing I noticed though is to get down towards the end, you have to pick up almost every talent in the first 3-4 rows just to have enough points spent to get to the later stuff. Seems a lot more noticeable than before, but that might be due to the removal of the 2 point nodes.

It just seems odd to have some of these as choices when you have to get over almost all of them simply to advance. Like to access the 4th row, you can only avoid AoE talents if you pick up every single other talent in the first 3 rows. That includes Havoc and Rolling Havoc which are useless in a purely single target fight. Otherwise you are taking Rain of Fire at the very least, which if that’s the goal, why not make it baseline?

Overall the tree looks interesting, but I’ll have to see how it feels once I get into the alpha or beta.

I wonder why they made the soulfire proc almost instant instead of instant
