In the absence of the peacemongering leaders of the Horde and Alliance, what would stop the rallying of Ork and Human alike to defend against the terrible fact of an endless evil Scourge invasion?
Will Geya’rah succeed where Go’el, the former Warchief could not and rally and regroup all ork clans in time to save Orgrimmar?
The Burning Blade, Blackrock, Dragonmaw, Stonemaull ogres or the Rekhan trolls as well as Frostwolf clan name just a few fractured Horde affiliates she would need to survive the endless wave after wave of undeath.
Naxxramus, now derelict and undefended could pose as a permanent settlement for the fledgling Forsaken after their abandonment by the treacherous false Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner.
The need to have mobile rapid deployment fortresses would make for essential advanced mobile forward bases able to house as many newly freed Scourge refugees as possible.
Also the newly minted necropoles would be convenient training grounds for newly recruited Forsaken led by necromancers rediscovering the precious gift that freedom of choice is.
NOT MIND CONTROL (Sylvanas).
The ability to redeploy wherever the now bolstered Forsaken wish would be a significant victory for the Warchief Geya’rah.
I really like the idea of Forsaken getting a necropolis alt a crashed necropolis as a capital. the best idea I have seen for night elves was them basically using drust magic to like Do the mogu/draenei/Arrakkoa (Grishnath) and tie dead spirits to ancients
The Forsaken don’t want necropolises if it means giving up Lordaeron. You keep making the same thread over and over trying to get a different outcome. Which is what we do here, to be fair, but you are particularly obtuse about it.
Do you think if you keep making the same thread, asking the same question, the outcome will change? How many times do we need to teach you this lesson, old man?
And if they make Geya’rah rally anyone it’d be surprising seeing as she seems only able to see 3 feet ahead of herself at any given time. She doesn’t look for information to understand her allies or the politics or the wars they’ve been in or why, she’s just dropped onto Azeroth, told she can murder draenei (and their allies) as many as she likes, and then goes hog wild.
Then she talks about how Sylvanas abused their trust like Geya’rah ever did anything but stand and salute and scream “LOK’TAR”. She’s just like the Warlords of Draenor in that they followed Grommash because he promised them conquest and glory.
With Necropoles you wouldn’t have to leave. I’m saying you could go where you please. Based in Northrend with the Naxxramus, and multiple new ones mostly in Kalimdor but at least two in Lordaeron. One in Western Plaguelands over Andorhal, and the other one in Eastern Plaguelands, over Tyr’s Hand.
Was trying to avoid the same old red vs blue in every province to give everyone breathing time and space.
I’m going to raise a point against it that nobody has mentioned yet. A flying city can be shot down. In fact exactly that happened to one in Northrend. You want to send your entire people down in a flaming wreckage? It’s the same thing I find ridiculous about Dalaran.
The Knights of the Ebon Blade already have Archerus. They’re doing the reclaimed Scourge thing. The Forsaken have their own architecture, technology and distinct units.
And if anything the Forsaken seem to be more interested in their navy than flying machines. They currently have the largest warships of any Horde faction. This actually makes sense as not being able to drown is a hell of an edge to have in Naval warfare.
So if the Forsaken were going to have a mobile home, a flotilla with a dreadnought in front and a fleet of Forsaken riding zombie sharks and kraken would be more interesting than a Necropolis.
I would be very ready for Vampire Coast vibe. I mean, I still want Undercity back, but I would take Vampire Coast if I can’t get that. The new Forsaken ship models are amazing, and I would love to see the Horde become a huge naval power backed by undead navy and Mag’har iron-horde tech.
Also, the only conceivable reason I can think of that the Forsaken might consider repurposing a necropolis is if Blizz is smart enough to allow them the “freeing Scourge minds in the absence of the Helm of Domination” thing. As sort of a rehab center for those that can still be brought back from the brink, and a processing center for the parts of those that can’t. Which … is honestly the way I hope Blizz lets them go. Its very back to their roots.
Even then, they’d be far more likely to repurpose the Scarlet’s New Hearthglen if they were in need of a permanent position within Northrend to do that. Its facilities are better and there is more space. It also has a good position for a Harbor, which ties into truly the amazing advancement in Forsaken Naval power recently. Which means thematically and functionally New Hearthglen is far more long-term and practical than even a Necropolis the size of Naxx.
Find the ones that can be saved. Send them somewhere comfortable, where their minds can be nursed back to health. Then ship them south along with a cargo of parts of the ones too far gone; for maintenance purposes.
