I already did a smilar topic from last year but I didn’t want to necro it so I ask the forum loud and clear. What qualities should the next leader of the Amani empire bring with it? I believe some sort of High Priest of Ula-Tek might be the best candidate bringing in both smarts and strength. Just another average warlord guy would just fall to the villain bat if we go by Blizzards usual plot for any troll sub race.

Chocolate chips. Now back to the real topic. What kind of things and talents should the next Amani leader got going for him or her?
I actually like this topic. I want to see a leader for the Amani who, as you said, is intelligent. I think they should be shrewd and mistrusting of their neighbors, but ultimately capable of accepting that we have a greater threat to vanquish and it’s time to set aside our differences to save the home we both want to protect. I don’t think they should “get along” with us, and I think there should be a lot of tension/infighting—but I think they should be willing to join the fight alongside us, even if reluctantly.
I don’t want to see a “the Amani are taking advantage of the chaos to murder everyone” plot, or a “the Amani joined the Void” plot. There will be outliers of course who do both of these things, but the overall society and leadership should not, so as to avoid the villain bat situation.
I think a religious leader would be a good idea for this. Whether a priest or druid or shaman—I think strong spirituality is a good way of grounding the Amani society against Void influence, since the Void is another sort of religious leader in a way. I also (selfishly) think having a strong focus on the Loa would be cool because I’m a druid stan and I want to see more druidism in Quel’Thalas.

I totally agree with you here. A powerful witch doctor or a high priest for their Loa would benefit the plot the most.
