I’ve been levelling without questing*, without dungeons, and without battlegrounds.
All I’m doing is exploring azeroth, mining, gathering herbs, and killing monsters that try to stop me from doing those things. It’s very chill and neat to have a new viable way to level.
*I did the earthen starter quests and turned in quests that you get from killing npcs sometimes.
I did mostly that approach with my earthen, too, along with a few simple WQ’s, like pet battles and dragon riding, and also did some fishing, too.
Sometimes I did a WQ for a gear piece if it was a significant upgrade and not too difficult since the toon was pretty much undergeared.
And then at level 80, it wasn’t that much gold to buy a set of green gear to get caught up to a point, ilvl-wise, and I easily offset that cost by selling a few 3 star herbs and bismuth ore.
I heartily agree it was a nice, relaxing way to level, and I usually did it later in the evening before logging off as a way to wind down and chill.
I’m at almost 71 and still have a couple of red/unexplored areas (using HandyNotes:MapNotes). This is the best I’ve done with an earthen. I think the trick is to stay on Chromie time until she drags you kicking and screaming back to SW or Org. Do Not use either of the scrolls - for Silithus or your home zone (SW or Org) or you will lose the buff. Just make sure you get all the unexplored areas. I made it to 97% to lvl 71 and I’m tired of it, lol. But it’s sure a quick way to level and really spoils you for normal class leveling.
You are not fighting anything. You are only flying around, so unless you get caught on the ground and aggro something, it works. After I got to 71, I came back to Valdrakken. Got tailored lvl 71 items, did some easy WQs like the climbing ones, and now at 420; acceptable to go to TWW. Also, if you have heirloom items, they will automatically level with you to however far you’ve paid for.
