Add missions that reward the blueprint books. Giving those playing the content a way to upgrade their garrison while leveling.
My dear, if you are referring to WoD, I am afraid that ship sailed. I do not see Blizzard making changes on garrisons. I do, however, wouldn’t mind a Final Fantasy-like player housing.
WoD is the best zone currently in Chromie time to level up in. They forgot to balance the costs of the garrison upgrades. It’s 1500g to upgrade my barracks…
Time to make money or borrow from your alts.
Upgrading your garrison is not part of the “WoD is the best zone to level up in” factor.
You want leveling speed. Do WoD. You wanna upgrade your garrison. Leveling needs to move down on your list of priorities.
I just want the whole experience with the one toon. Not drain the bank.
Why do you think Blizzard made upgrading the garrison cost those prices? To drain your bank.
Probably should wait till you are max level and making better amounts of gold to worry about upgrading.
Because Draenor’s missions gave you TONS of gold. Which they already removed. so it makes sense to remove the high cost too.
Draenor used to be the “golden Standard” when it came to money. Now that was nerfed as well. Still, the best way to get gold there is killing everything in site and sell at a vendor or auction house.
In a vacuum, maybe you are right. In reality, at max level, we can gain a lot of gold from many sources.
Just not while leveling. (Which was also the case when WoD was current content)
Not sure why people argue against this. It’s not like it would take a lot of dev time to incorporate changes to the costs to upgrade the garrison. With the Chromie time changes to leveling you really should get to fully experience one expansion as much as reasonably possible as part of the leveling process. Keeping in mind the squish and leveling overhaul wasn’t just meant for veteran players.
Yes, new players get forced through BFA on their first toon. But after, I’m sure they want to explore the world, experience the rest of the game.
Kinda smells when you can only do stuff at max level even though it’s right there in your face from level 10 upward.
I took a vacation during WOD, and never made an Alliance garrison until now.
It is really cool looking and was totally fun spooking it up with ghosts, jack-o-lanterns and special mounts.
I’ll definitely make one for any Ally toons I make, and I agree with the OP-why make older content so expensive for new toons?
I would really like to start a new account and test that if its true. Sure new players cannot interact with Chromie Time, but does it really stop them from interacting with objects to other expansions entirely?
For WoD as an example, even without picking up Chromie Time you can go to the Honor Hold Mage in the middle area of the Mage Tower and have them port you to the Dark Portal then run straight in. You’ll skip the whole intro to WoD and go where the boat just landed in Shadowmoon Valley.
Or, just remove the gold cost of everything involving the Garrison (except maybe the Trade Depot).
Oy, it should still be challenging to unlock, not be handed out free. Handouts aren’t fun.
(except for anni presents and that sort)
In WoD, there are quest rewards that are books can be exchanged for blueprints. Don’t forget to use those if you can avoid spending the gold. I left mine in bank and found out afterwards.
Leveling garrison is high cost, working on a level 3 shipyard right now. And, even for all the “easy” gold back in the days, they came AFTER spending all the gold, resources, and time leveling garrison. Though, I don’t think this will be changed.
