A few things I really hate

The fact that you can see people replying to posts in real time annoys me. It legitimately makes me feel self-conscious. It comes off as petty, but I don’t want to give someone the satisfaction of knowing how long it takes me to hammer out a response! I’d rather they stew and drive themselves mad wondering if I’m going to reply or not. It feels really invasive and awkward

Also, people can see who liked their posts now? As a serial post liker I find this appalling, I feel so exposed. This just reminds me of people on facebook who shamelessly going around liking posts for no reason. I don’t want people to know I’m that person. Sometimes I like posts just to be passive-aggressive, but I don’t necessarily want the person to know its me.

Also, why the hell isn’t there a quote button? I have to MANUALLY copy and paste someone’s response into my post and hit the quotation button? Who has time for that? That’s utterly exhausting. No one asked for this.

Nobody asks for change ever but you know it’s just life sadly.

My biggest issue with the real time post stuff is that it causes a tad more lag than it used to when in the backgreound.

Hi snow.

Dang it snow, you saw me post this and stopped replying. shakes fist

I agree about quotation, a whole lot more janky.

For me, I just want to be able to toggle all of the superfluous crap (like all the information under the first post in each thread, want it completely gone; likewise with all of the flagging buttons at the bottom of a thread).

I actually like that we can see who likes posts now. Now if someone says something and I wanna acknowledge that I saw it/agree with them I’ll just like it instead of typing out a post

Would really like a preference option to enable auto quoting in the initial reply. Right now I’m just highlighting things and quoting from there to make things easier.

Now you will know that Autai hearts you.

The quote thing I agree with I wish was the old way just seems like extra steps for no reason

It’s kind of distracting. I feel like I’m cutting in line or something if I see someone else posting. I think it’s something I’ll get over or maybe if there’s a way to turn it off I will do that lol

I’m sure Blizzard are really upset that this is no longer possible.

Actually, you don’t have to manually quote. Just press the little chat bubble that’s in the text box when you’re typing.

That is, unless that doesn’t exist on PC, as I’m on Mobile.

i’ll eventually get over it. but i agree it’s annoying seeing things move about as i type out a reply. sort of like the shtick on messenger-type apps.

You could do what my friend does and type all of it out on a notepad, and then copy and paste it all at once when you’re done.

Yes. Whenever someone likes your post, (which I’m about to do right now) you can go to the top right corner and there will be a notification. It’ll say the person who liked your post, with a heart next to their name letting you know they liked a post of yours. Others won’t be able to see who liked your post specifically though.

Could do what I’ve been doing. Highlight the part of their post with your mouse, (or even on mobile, since I’m doing this on mobile) and release. After you’re done highlighting you’ll see a, “Quote” button which you can click and it’ll format it automatically into a reply.

There is a Quote button. It’s the speech bubble icon at the upper left of your reply window, next to the big B for bold text.

Personally, I only get a few likes now and again, and always kind of wonder who, so I really appreciate knowing.

As for people seeing how long it takes me to find my home keys and hunt & peck out my reply, shrugs doesn’t bother me. But I do get that “feeling conspicuous” isn’t something you choose. I doubt that many are looking - they are probably just trying to type.

maybe you can turn off the presence/activity thing in preferences?

not sure what that does exactly

oh yes your a wow forum life saver

I never have this issue because people always agree with me no matter what I post. Get on my level.

I love this feature, I understand the “ironing out the response” part though.

I agree, a number count was already sufficient.

Yeah I think they goofed on this part, only good thing about it phones can now do it.

Also, RIP responses with 10 words or less. Ik about the emoji buy still.

It works! Thanks for pointing this out.

Following what I said previously, you could also disconnect from your internet when you’re replying if you don’t want people to know that you’re typing at the time.

Seems a bit of a stretch, and I don’t care if people know if I’m typing, but hey, if that’s what you want to do you can.
