The world quest wouldn’t advance. I stood in the Circle and killed enemies for like 10 mins. it would flash 6 then go back to 0. I tried Logging out, disabling all my addons, and a full restart of the game. Same issue.

I am having this issue on my Warrior. I cannot complete the quest because the progress bar keeps resetting to 0 every few seconds.
I think I have already seen more bugs in SL than I did in all of Legion and BfA combined.

Ok so I did some digging and testing and it apparently is caused by the 8 set Venthyr armor bonus. I took off my boots which removed the 8 set bonus and I could complete the quest.
“Set: While Door of Shadows is off cooldown your strength is increased by 80 and its range is increased by 5 while outdoor in Shadowlands zones.”
I’d be genuinely curious to hear an explanation from the guy who wrote that code. How does that set bonus bug a world quest?

Thanks for this! I had the 8 set Venthyr armor and the world quest wasn’t working. Took off my boots and completed it no problem.
Can confirm my Venthyr 8 Set was causing issues for some reason.
I cant get it to work even with removing a set piece. hopefully its fixed soon. ive missed out on 4 of this quest so far.
Confirming same as of 5 Jan. Removing a piece of armor (boots) and reducing the armor set bonus to less than 8 worked. Otherwise, as stated, unable to complete.
Same issue as of 17 Jan. Took off two pieces to get to 7 and the quest worked as intended.

Echoing this. Just happened to my boyfriend while we were doing the WQ on Jan 17th. He had the full set and had to remove a piece to get it to count.

I just encountered the same thing. I’m head to toe Venthyr armor, showed up to do this WQ. WQ wouldn’t work. Found this forum, took off two pieces of my gear, WQ completed. To Blizzard specifically; No Blizzard, I’m not getting half undressed or carrying around extra gear just to complete a WQ because you can’t be bothered to fix your bugs. I’ve actually been enjoying SL so far on two characters, but these bugs are killing me slowly.

Thanks for posting this. My DH was having issues with this quest. She had the 8 piece bonus as well. Removing 2 pieces allowed me to finish the quest.
How is this still a bug? Fix it Blizzard.

Literally took 30 mins to complete one WQ because of this pathetic bug. To say I am absolutely sick and tired of the bugs that hinder the player that plague this game not getting fixed, is the understatement of the century.
I too am venth and had to take off 2 set bits to finally get this to work.

I had the complete set of Ebony Death armor (9 pieces) and took two off and the quest worked, but spent an hour before I checked this forum…thanks for the advice one and all. You guys are the greatest.

Also yet another echo as a fully decked out Venthyr; Blizzard, PLEASE address these bugs. They’re detracting from gameplay enjoyment in an otherwise good expansion.
Venthyr with all 9 pieces - switched out the two and loe and behold the quest worked.
Venthyr are hosed enough already compared to the other covenants but now this - where did they do their coding and QC, China?

I agree, this is pathetic. A bug as glaring as this shouldn’t go live and if it does it shouldn’t still be present after two weeks. Blizzard, if this bug was reported by Tencent then would you fix it right away?
