So people have been getting on me about roleplaying a Lorewalker, so I have some things to say that it is lore friendly for me to do such a thing. Here is what I’ve done with research AND what I have figured out initially. This way I don’t have to constantly try to repeat myself when people complain about me being not lore-friendly.
1.) Lorewalkers CAN know things outside of Pandaria.
I had this one a lot, where my Draenei would know something (she’s a practiced archaeologist and historian) about different things outside of where the Lorewalkers were established.
The WoWpedia CLEARLY states that Lorewalkers ‘travel the world’
(Reference: https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Lorewalkers
) so yes, a Lorewalker CAN know about Vrykul runes or various different historical things; archaeology is a form of historical study, so being a Lorewalker can get your foot (or in my case, hoof), in the door.
2.) Can only be Pandaren!
This one, while I might not have a lot of references, I can speak about what is seen in game itself. While Jinyu themselves can be Lorewalker (which easily debunks the only Pandaren complaint), it’s clear that ANYONE can be a Lorewalker, and why do you think I’ve deduced this?
Anyone can get the Tabard; if they didn’t want us to BE Lorewalkers, then why give us access to the tabard? Why give us access to the Flying Disc if they didn’t want us to use it and get Exalted with the Lorewalkers? Wouldn’t it not make logical sense, being exalted with them, to join them?
And anyone can be a Monk, why would be too farfetched to wanna be a Lorewalker anyway? What do you have against it?
3.) Why not be Explorer’s League?
The Explorer’s league has a Dwaven focus and study. Though they have resources to do other things, that is not their primary specialization. Though they are helping in the Dragon Isles, with the Dragonscale Expedition.
And they do have a lot of non-dwarf members… So what makes that different from the Lorewalkers?
And the League also have other things being a secondary and consequence of just being able to vacuum up everything due to economy of scale.
