Just imagine if they did that. The rioting…
I wonder how bleak this quest designer is looking to go.
Also would be curious to know what the “darker” timeline of avoiding it would have been.
(Sorry dark humour/thought moment)

We’re a lot more amenable to mass murder/genocide than we are to sexual assault, lol.
I’ve lost count of the amount of times now…
are you kidding I’d do that job every single time and never get bored of seeing those elves burn. I’d even roast marshmallows on their tree and tell everyone the reason for it was Tyrande’s not dead. I’d also strap a bomb to saurfang’s back that injects him with poison as yeah no I’m glad that traitor is dead. All I need is chromie’s help to go back in time to that moment and I’d get to enjoy it all again. I mean hey whatever… if it wouldn’t mess up the timeline I’d sap Saurfang and stuff him in the tree before burning it. I wonder what Tyrande would choose if she was given the choice of either saving her moron husband who in a way got ysera corrupted and killed or the lives of everyone in the tree from the flames.
The people who get upset about this stuff are very soft, and I worry for their skin.
They aren’t even real characters- never were, never will be.
And yet, people get riled up as if they were real people, lmao.
It frightens me, honestly.
If said folks played FF14, the story would probably give them a heart attack. It’s easily darker than WoW, on the regular.
I know right people throwing tantrums and getting mad about people dying in a video game… so childish. They’re not real people…they’re pixels but hey whatever
I have always found this very disturbing and odd. I recall the cheering Blizzcon crowd during mid BFA blizzcon where Ion was joking how they just mass genocided the night elves and the Horde side of the crowd cheered with glee. I mean many Horde (as obviously seen in this thread) and I’ll be fair, many Alliance too, don’t feel uncomfortable at all with the idea of genocide and mass murdering etc. Sure there was some backlash, but there was just as much heavy support and at the end of the day, Blizzard gave the genocider a free pass to redemption.
PS - I believe dark topics do have their place in fiction and shouldn’t be censored, not saying that. Just saying I find it kind of weird how genocide just seems very easy for some people to talk and joke about openly.
The rioting? Is there a petition we can sign to get that quest in game?
Ok , but do I get to use the Fire catapults
I wonder if there’s a Chromie adventure where we get to ensure past and present War Chiefs get to die by rando trash mobs.
It turns out we were the random Fel guard in disguise.
I still think there should be a yearly commemoration of the bonfire for Forsaken players. Set up some goblin grills, hot dogs and burgers.
Hopefully we can get a Quest to ensure all Horde Soldiers who used the Catapults die as their continued presence after that particular point in Time threatens the Timeline.
I’m sure my fellow Alliance would relish the chance to avenge Teldrassil’s destruction on those directly responsible for the atrocity.
Good point I’d like to kick Saurfang‘s as and throw him into the tree
Sending timewalkers into historical events which they have a strong desire to alter seems like a recipe for trouble. If the bronze dragons keep doing it, something is eventually going to go very badly.
Considering that this timeline feels like the impossibly bad one… how much worse could it have gone?
Is Chromie secretly evil? Also, if she knows our future, why doesn’t she try to help us out? She seems to only make sure that past events which killed millions of people are the ones that come true.
I want a quest where we have to punch a kitten because if it lives arthas won’t become the lich king because he’ll remember how cute kittens are and won’t go for frostmourne.
Unironically, I think this would be a great idea if you want to go into the bleak aspects of what the Bronze Dragonflight do.
Make Chromie and the other Bronze Dragonflight have to look someone in the eye and say that their loved one had to die again to ensure that the timeline remains intact.
Make them strong enough (a canonical adventurer like us, perhaps that’s why they were chosen to be a timewalker) that the problem can’t be solved with violence and instead of just murdering our way to a fixed timeline, we have to talk them down from the ledge metaphorically.
A shipment of goblin alchemical flame oil is being sent to the front on Sylvanas’ orders.
It gets held up by some thieves that you need to defeat.
You then work with the goblins and Forsaken to repair the catapults while fighting off aggressive treants.
You even have a small chat with Delaryn about never losing hope.
Quest complete. Nightmares forever.
Dark is fine, many of my favorite games have dark themes or allow you to take evil actions if you choose. Participating in someone’s sexual assault though, even as part of a fictional story involving fictional characters, is just gross, and a line no one should ever even consider crossing.
