Yesterday I saw this Level 31 Troll Hunter in Hillsbrad Foothills - and noticed, that her behavior was super weird.
Keep in mind - this was happening on Faerlina - one of the busiest PvP realms out there - so the new players would never automatically be assigned to it. By level 31 you gotta know the basics of this game, right?
-
She never targeted me or any other players nearby. We were literally in front of her face, and not once she left-clicked on us or the Tauren druid who was 1 feet away after we called him up. Only when i started to cast spells on her - it automatically targeted me. I killed her once, and started to AOE-farm mobs. She just ran past me when i was at 5% health - didn’t target me. Just continued shooting spiders.
-
She had a clear pattern of behavior, and after I killed her pet, she continued to attack mobs like she had a pet, and did not revive it before the battle. Only after the mob died, she started to cast “Summon pet” and “Revive pet” right after, like it was a macros. This happened twice.
-
I don’t know about you, but I always jump / rotate camera / look around when i level up. It’s just the basics of being on a PvP server - by level 31 you gotta have these habits in you, if you don’t want to get killed every second. You still gonna get killed, 'cause it’s Faerlina - but my point is, that this is definitely unusual to see someone not doing these things.
I understand, that there are a lot of intoxicated people playing the game, and sometimes people share account with kids or their wives or other relatives/friends. But to NEVER target the players around you? And not to finish up someone who just killed you? And just act like you are on a PvE server while being our in one of the most dangerous zones on Faerlina - especially now that the Alterac Valley is out?
All these facts might be coincidence, but man - this looks really suspicious…
I mean we all know that bots are real - in Fortnite and other popular FPS they complain about them all the time. Numerous newspaper articles have been made about it too.
Have you personally seen or hear about the bots in WoW Classic yet?
What do you think - is this someone who is sharing an account with another player - who’s really really bad at the game - or high chance that is was actually a bot?
Thank you for your time, and happy holidays!

P.S. Keep in mind - the video is edited for my youtube audience. But the majority of the clip is unedited footage of her weird behavior, so you can see for youself.

While i’m leveling I don’t target anyone. I mind my own business, But if I get attacked then I’ll respond.

I’m pretty sure the bots are very unintelligent (not like in the past) and a dead giveaway is if you attack the mob before the bot does and it keeps on attacking it. A player would notice immediately you tagged the mob and would disengage
Another way, again because most bots will be unintelligent, is if they keyboard turn. Now I’m not saying all people who keyboard turn are bots I’m saying it is something you should watch for
As for why bots are unintelligent (for the most part, there is probably a really good bot out there) is so you don’t get banned. The more complicated the bot the more ways Blizzard has to detect it. I would think most bots you see in the world are using AutoHotKey scripts

I think he’s being silly on purpose though - he just forgot that he can buy ore instead.
It was a very informative video.

I saw a hunter going back and forth in a literal point A to point B line keyboard turning and going back again killing the random lowbie mobs in their way, it reminded me of WC3 just putting myself on patrol in a lane.

I don’t know how to answer to a several people at a time, but turns out Vaulty and few other big wow classic players also made a video about it just a couple days ago!
Didn’t know this topic was brought up before this week.
I’ve come across too many, to be honest.

A popular spot for a while was the furbolgs in aszhara, as no one kills them because they are a faction hit, and there’s no other mobs the bots would encounter. I must have reported at least 5 bots there over the course of a few weeks. Havent seen any in a while though. I think they moved locations. Almost makes me curious enough to try to find where they went so I can keep reporting.

Theirs tons of bots now. However some of them are not bots. Few in guild thought i was bot because i grind level almost solely. I dont always respond and constantly have AFK up because i AFK alot. All good though.
Not worried just find it funny when people assume worst in people. Helps I know alot of the guildies now and chat more.

Liar. I don’t think a single bot has been banned. They’re everywhere.

Have seen a few that I’m pretty sure were bots, but only one that I was positive. It was a priest on Mankrik that was stationed on that pile of wreckage in Shimmering Flats, where all the level 29-32 turtles spawn in a big group. It was there for days, casting Smite to pull and kill any turtle that spawned within range, not looting it or moving, and casting a heal on itself about every 15 seconds or so.
Yes, I reported it.
