It’s amazing how any time ret is in the top half of damage, they’re “OP” or “overtuned”. Ret is NEVER top damage, and RARELY even top burst. Too many people simply have a hate-on for the spec and cry any time they’re not bad. Blizzard has created this by caving every time the crying starts on ret for 10+ years.

why are you using JV? base TV does more damage then JV
JV gets a 25% mod hitting stunned targets, so it can hit the hardest, but only when things are stunned.
It’s not that it’s hard….it’s that the stacking modifiers make for cheese mechanics thus resulting in specs being nerfed. It can be fun, challenging, more engaging but you end up getting nerfed because of the cheese.
There was a ninja nerf yesterday to FR (15% less damage holy spender). No way JV is hitting close to 150k in arena against a fully geared player.
Vanguard of justice needs to be removed and JV stun damage needs to be reduced to 15% (this will nerf holy spender damage another 20% including Divine Storm from EL)
My fury has more vers than most players can get, 33% with 435k hp.
No one wants to be reminded that most defensives are 2-3 minute CDs and wings/reck is now 1min
And Hammer Stun can DR with good rotation and divine purpose procs, <20s cd. Tge uptime is nasty.

That is what happens when you decide to balanced a class around having the worst mobility and uptime in pvp(even with the increased range in some skills), the dmg must be high to be meaningful bacause the uptime is small and we also don’t have a MS effect like most melee do nowadays.
I would very much prefer a mobile high uptime high sustain and low burst Ret as a base.
Please delete thread before they nerf us into the ground.
Ret is for sure overturned right now, I’m just hoping that they reduce the spikes to our damage and increase the damage of our HP generators again (so that it doesn’t feel like I have to use a CD to apply significant pressure). The survivability feels good (maybe could use a minor reduction) there are tools in the tree to help stay connected that aren’t worth taking currently because the damage talents are worth more (thinking ranged consecration+slow) I feel like that would offset the minor “loss to mobility” that I’ve seen complained about with freedom being dispellable. Its just not worth taking right now because we don’t actually need to stay connected outside of CD burst windows. Ultimately increase sustain, reduce burst don’t do anything knee jerk reaction wise and ret will be in an ok place. I honestly liked ret before rework better.
other classes have been doing this kind of damage sense launch yet everyone cries when paladin can match it XD what a joke why is paladin the most hated class?

So much salt from them when they’d get smoked 1v1 out in the world. Rets are broken in world pvp everyone knows that.

Divine Arbiter is a proc (25 attacks)… you’re not timing that. It’s all about luck if it aligns with your EP proc at the same second.
Or if you’re stalling to align them normally, whats the point? You’re missing out on dishing damage if you’re withholding it.
