A bit late but, Did Arthas deserve the Maw?

I’m curious if he was brought before the Arbiter would he have gone to the Maw? or Revendreth? Did he deserve a chance at redemption or eternal damnation?

He’d probably get redemption considering the sword is what corrupted him. Though he did do some messed up stuff before that but if kael got redeemed I’m sure arthas would since both did terrible things to save more lives (pre frostmorne)

Well I would have probably said yes but seeing Sylvanas is getting off with a slap on the hand…

He definitely didn’t deserve the Maw. He probably ought to have spent some time in Revendreth atoning for his sins, but getting turned into 35 Anima was Danuser getting rid of him so that fans couldn’t wish for him back. Danuser is turning the World of Warcraft into the “Danuserverse” and clearing out old lore and paving the way for his new stuff.

He seemed like a dark person. Killing everyone in Strath was pretty damn evil and was using a hammer when that happened.

Is murdering an entire city Maw worthy? I did not pay attention to this xpac

Spending the rest of eternity hunting down souls in the worst possible place imaginable to spirit them to other realms, with no rest with a judgmental owl following your every footstep is getting a slap on the hand?

You must be playing that new Tauren DK Rogue class for prepatch.

Considering she put a ton of them there and a great many have been already been destroyed to fuel the Jailers war machine? Yes, it is a slap on the wrist. Tyrande should have ended her when given the option!

I have no idea what you’re talking about.

So a quick death, vanishing completely to oblivion instead of suffering in the Maw hunting for those souls would have been better? Sounds more a mercy really.

At this point, I don’t even care what happens to Arthas anymore.

It’s a shame the dead can’t just be dead in WoW.

I wish they would have left his character alone until they could do it right.

Suffering, the people she murdered they suffered. The souls that were destroyed and can no longer find their after live, they suffered. She is doing an extended version of a quest we did weekly/daily for well over a year.

I disagree. I believe the original intent was for him to be the 9.2 story with the Jailor being the 9.3 story.

However when the vocal minority of forum people started crying about how SL was the worst ever, I believe the big three million subscriber CCs (Preach, Bueller and Asmongold) launched their anti WOW campaign to farm for “clicks” and Blizzard decided to cut their losses.

Something had to go and it was Arthus.

The end of Wrath was his character done right. They didn’t need to do more.

What differentiated Arthas was that he was unrepentant - even proud - of his “ends justify the means” line of thought. He didn’t hesitate. He didn’t regret. And that’s what makes him irredeemable.

We had the luxury of taking a break and doing other stuff. She’ll be there, for all time. Even when the last soul has been rescued she’ll still be there, alone in the Maw for all eternity. A hell of her own making.

If you actually believe that, I have a bridge I would like to sell you. She will be back after DF, they are not going to shelf her for the rest of the game. We both know that…

Yea well you’re probably right.
God I hated BFA, they really did her dirty. Did everyone dirty.
