A bit confused with crafting order to make Primal Molten gear

Primal Molten Vambraces and Primal Molten Greatbelt - Crafted by Blacksmithing and embellished with Blue Silken Lining Icon Blue Silken Lining

I never done a craft order before. How much would the commission for this be? So if my goal was to craft a 525 version of it, do I just need the following?

  1. Spark of awakening
  2. 13 Primal Molten Alloy
  3. Enchanted aspects awakened crest
  4. Blue silken lining.

Also it says it could be 512-525. is that RNG?

Need to find a crafter capable of doing 525. Not all crafters are able.

Don’t forget a draconic missive so you can customize the secondary stats. Commission would just depend on the crafter.

The ranks/ilevel go up in difficulty, so highly skilled crafters can make the 525 version while newer ones cannot. The rank you get will ultimately depend on their skill.

As people said, make sure to include the stat missives and your embellishments as well.

As far as fees go, check in with the crafter. At this point in the expansion, I think a few thousand gold is fine. I don’t think people are going to be trying to charge the 25k that some people did at the very start. As a tailor, people on average do 3-6k gold depending on the difficulty and if I need to use insight.

There are a few super rare patterns and items like the elemental lariat that may have a large fee, but outside of that, most things will be pretty reasonable.

There is some minor RNG, but the results of crafting comes down to primarily four things:

  1. The raw skill of the crafter (IE BS+specialization+crafting gear bonuses)
  2. The quality of the materials (The better they are the better the more crafting bonus and inspiration bonus you get)
  3. The complexity of the order (IE the level of difficulty of the item+embellishments+the rank of the item)
  4. Inspiration of the crafter (This is a floaty RNG thing that provides a chance for a “crit” giving bonus skill points).

At this juncture, any crafter worth their salt should be able to guarantee a rank 5 item, though in this specific instance they would need an enchanted Awakened Aspect crest to reach 525 (an item you would need to get from an enchanter).

The aspect crest guarantees the max “tier” of item level. 525 is the max for a rank 5 quality piece, which depends on the crafter’s skill and inspiration. For an item with expensive mats, such as primal molten alloy, it may be worth it to ask the crafter to use an Illustrious Insight (which they may charge several thousand gold for) to guarantee max rank.

For some crafted items that have cheap mats, it’s usually better to ask the crafter if you can provide mats for recrafts until they get a r5 proc, and tip them accordingly. I generally tip between 1k-2.5kg for crafts where I provide all the mats.
