They should use low-res kitten gifs that float over the spider model instead
I liked what Lethal Company did. You just see the word Spider if you toggle the arachnophobe box.
I’m really, really hoping we get playable Nerubians (spider people) in one of these upcoming expansions. Partly because they’re cool, partly to freak people out >;)
Spider pride, yo >>8<<
What if we just:
- Replace their eyes with giant googely eyes.
- Add pants to their legs.
- Add a top-hat for good measure.
- Throw in a monocle.
If all else fails, switch them to murspidas.
I am surprised at all the fantasy RPGs getting Arachnophobia Mode suddenly.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s one of the most common phobias and if seeing spiders freaks you out that badly I am genuinely glad you get a tool that lets you finally enjoy some great games.
But some of y’all have been playing this genre for a while and literally every RPG I have ever played as had the obligatory “spider get” quest with giant spiders. How have you all been coping with that?
Definately like the kittens idea. I am positively more afraid of crabs than I am of spiders.
Im thinking this means we wont get them as a race.
I think this is so goofy and I’m someone that’s extremely afraid of spiders.
Even a tiny one makes me scream and flail around the room.
But whatevs. It’s a harmless and funny option.
What about those of us with trypophobia? I despise Sithilus.
My wife actually has made a lot of progress on her arachnophobia by playing this game. She wouldn’t have if this filter had existed so I guess I’m just really glad she didn’t have access to this before hand, I’m so proud of her.
or grounded a floating ball lol
I was really hoping we’d see them, too, but with this change I highly doubt we will. Honestly, that’s my one sort of “bummer” moment with the change-- I’m glad people who need it can have the option, but it basically more or less confirms we will never have playable Nerubians.
This is a pretty embarrassing feature though pretty spot on for 2024. Scared of cartoon spiders in a video game. smh.
