I apologize if this post isn’t much, but I figured I should just put myself out there. I’ve been on the server for years now, but hadn’t gotten around to roleplaying in it. The toon that I first did here was a Blood Elf Unholy Death Knight called Goldmorn (named that in honor of an NPC that used to be in Silvermoon but was mysteriously replaced during WotLK) and I kept him in the DK starting zone for fun. I used him as a way to take breaks from my main server Earthen Ring. These days, this is the server I use more often. I openly admit I have some fears and intimidations about roleplaying. Always seems that the kinds of characters I’m interested in might be out of my league and the ones that would be easy have me disinterested.
. . . I hope I don’t end up regretting mentioning my Death Knight’s name.

I completely understand how it can be intimidating sometimes to walk up and start talking to someone new. If you’re looking for an easy start, I’d recommend lurking during an RP event for a bit and see how it feels. Or if you see Larisi online - that’s my Alliance main - drop me a whisper.

I mostly hadn’t thought much beyond transmog theme for my Dark Iron Dwarf. It’d be easier for me to mention my Alliance alts in game, since I’m a bit paranoid about completely outing myself on the forums.
Belated hello and welcome to WrA! Also was on Earthen Ring back in the day, among other servers. WrA has been our home since late 2021.
What kind of fears and intimidations are you having around RP? You mentioned something about characters being “out of your league” or disinterest. What kind of RP are you looking for and what character concept are you considering this time around? Is your old Belf DK coming back out or are you rolling anew?

I still play the game sometimes on Goldmorn, but I’m not sure I could really do any RP other than “Death Knight from a different timeline where he was important” with him.
I get that. It’s weird picking back up where you left off when you’ve been on hiatus. Went through something similar when we server transferred with 14 years of guild and character history. Kept the important development stuff, left the rest to imagination, and started over. A few guildies decided to start fresh with new characters just to make it simpler.
Given how many new and allied races have likely been added to the game since your last play through, it could be a good time to experiment and see where your muse takes you. Also, Mereldar is becoming a little bit of a cross-faction walk-up spot in the evenings. It’s a nascent effort so could use more hands. You can swing by sometime and lamp till you feel comfortable jumping in.
