A 3rd Faction

After 20 years of World of Warcraft the game is starting look like World of Carebears. It is time to put War back into Warcraft. It is time for a 3rd faction to declare War on both the Alliance and the Horde. Any race should be able join a 3rd faction.
A 3rd Faction needs a strong leader like Arthas Menethil to go against both factions. It is time to put " War " back into Warcraft . IT IS TIME FOR WAR !

What would be the point? The Alliance will just start complaining again that they don’t have enough people to play with, and Blizzard will merge all 3 factions.

The third faction will be playable Kobolds, Murlocs, Nightfallen, Mogu and Nerubians, united under the banner of People We Used To Kill A Lot But Sort Of Don’t Anymore. The leaders of the PWUTKALBSODA will change on a weekly basis as the other factions raid them.

Already is a third faction.

The Legion tried that.
So did the Twilight’s Hammer.
Along with Garrosh, Sylvanas and even the Primalists …

And ultimately – It didn’t work out so well for them :grimacing:

A united Horde and Alliance is pretty much unbeatable in canon.

World of Warcraft needs a new villain to pump blood back into WoW. Without a good villain there is no hero. There is no Warcraft. A 3rd faction would help put life back into a game once again. New and old players will come back to WoW once more.

I mean.

Lots of factions popped up and declared war. All of them lasted less than a year of in game time because the Alliance and Horde demolished them.

It’s actually really funny. WoD made a big deal about how dangerous the Iron Horde was and what kind of threat they were to Azeroth if allowed to continue.

And within months of trapping a small contingent of Ally/Horde on Draenor did so much damage so quickly that they turned to demons again.

Well, a third faction would mean Blizzard making a bunch of new playable races, so it’s never going to happen. We literally just got a reskinned dwarf as an expansion feature…

They should split them back into Alliance, Horde, Elves and Undead. Making Night Elves and Undead permanent members of Alliance and Horde was a bad idea, they should’ve been the original “allied races”.

All the different Elves are immortal, have been around for thousands of years longer than the young races with their little wars, and they all have more in common with each other than with other Alliance/Horde races. They should form their own Elven faction.

And the Undead should be their own faction, which should include not just undead Lordaeron humans, but undead versions of other races, too.

Since we have cross-faction gameplay now, and everyone hangs out in faction neutral cities anyway, none of this would affect the gameplay in any way. Factions don’t matter at all for gameplay purposes at this point.
But it would open doors for new and interesting storylines, new alliances, shifting allegiances, betrayals, team-ups, etc.
Blizzard wrote themselves into a corner by putting everyone in just two factions. Time to shake it up.

Blizzard doesn’t even tell stories for the 2nd faction in the game right now, you think they’re going to tell stories about a 3rd or 4th?

I mean Blizzard isn’t gonna do any of this in any way shape or form, I think we’re just fantasizing about what would be cool for them to do if they actually tried. Of course fully knowing that it’s never going to happen.

Having 3rd faction means everyone can join a new faction and have an open world of pvp just like GW2. Blizzard could create a 3rd faction if alot players ask for it . That’s the only way a 3rd faction can happen.

Having Orcs and Humans together in a guild , something is very wrong with Blizzard. This not ok. This is not World of Warcraft that i love. There is no pride or loyalty to a faction anymore. It’s time for Blizzard to put " War " back into Warcraft.

WoW isn’t Star Trek where humans and nonhumans are together living peacefully with one another. That doesn’t happen in World of Warcraft. Everyone should be at war with each other. That’s why i played WoW for so many years.

When I first started playing World of Warcraft, a player can only choose the Horde or the Alliance . A player can not play both sides . I would love to see some of that faction loyalty come back to WoW. A 3rd faction would bring new life into WoW. New pride and loyalty from faction that would crush the Horde and Alliance. This Orc wants to leave the Horde to join a new faction. Garrosh Hellscream was right about Thrall and the Horde . Weak and pathetic.

Sylvanas : " The Horde is nothing " … It’s time for a 3rd faction and a powerful leader. It time for this Orc to walk away from the Horde and join a new faction.

I want a really evil faction that’s irredeemable and super dark where players do genocide such as slaughtering other faction cities and members and doesn’t care about players of that faction feeling bad about it

Make Xalatah as the leader and make her promise players ascension if they do her biding

I miss being the bad guy when I played a vanilla orc warlock , nowadays all warlocks are blonde, blue eyed and weights 90lbs or less wearing cute dresses . Zero edge in either faction except cosmetic looks

Even undead are all funny and comically and happy to help in the name of the light

Even if it’s just one race faction is still ok

Playable imps that come in and headbutt these softer factions in the nuts.

I would join an Evil :smiling_imp: faction. What ever it takes to bring " War " back into World of Warcraft.

Tigerfists : " I would crush the Horde and the Alliance and destroy all their hopes and wishes. Plus the Horde and the Alliance are wasting light and it needs to be turn off. "
" Come and join me into the darkness and become powerful gods and destroy the Horde and the Alliance. "

Frankly, MMOs aren’t big enough anymore for factions splitting the playerbase to be a healthy gameplay mechanic.

There’s a reason no other currently relevant MMO does it.

There’s a reason WoW has been actively making changes to allow the factions to play the game together.

That, and players have made it clear they’d rather just roll on whatever faction is blatantly dominant on their server and play as if there isn’t another faction.
