PLEASE BLIZZ I SIMPLY WANT TO CONVEY MY OPINION BEFORE MY SUB RUNS OUT.

Sad I had to put those disclaimers but please do not false flag, if you don’t like what I have to say then just move on.

Finally the start, My sub is cancelled, runs out around Dec 12th and per Blizzard guidance I am voicing my opinion on the forums as they say when you cancel your sub.

I am going to be making a series of posts in my last days, sort of a “memoir” if you will from an OG player who has quite literally been around since the beginning.

I will try to use “soft language” as people in a knee jerk reaction had to flag me for “spamming” but again, blizz, this is simply my opinion.

With Wrath Era servers not being a thing that has killed my motivation to play, this isn’t spam, it ties into my other point.

WoW from 2004 to about 2010 for those who were here was like the 80’s. It was non stop, new, lots of constant activity and was just crazy, kind of like a certain substance a lot of people did in the 80’s…

However once Cataclysm dropped WoW became a “check in every once in a while” game.

I still raided hardcore until the end of MoP but once WoD started in 2014 I definately quit raiding and WoW for good. I would just “check in” every once in a while and now I’m about to go on the longest “break” I think I’ll ever go on. I hope I come back someday but who knows?

I grew up with the game in 2004 but now I have a great job, wife and family and I think the main reason people cannot understand why people wanted the “forever time bubble” of vanilla through Wrath was us veteran players, and those who like to go slow, wanted the orginal WoW trilogy to be in “check back” mode.

We could progress our characters, no time pressure, raid, get our fill and when we got burnt out and came back, we would know the “forever time bubble” would always be there

I have no malice towards those who want to continue on with CATA classic and beyond, it’s not for me but you guys can go ahead, we simply wanted our trilogy time bubble and I think that’s why you see the discourse about the Wrath Era servers.

We are not spamming, we are simply communicating our opinion to blizz and it’s very 1984 that those of you who do not want Wrath era, immediately mass flag our posts.

Now the point of this particular post is yes, the forums have always been toxic, it was less so in 2004-2010, believe me, but it was still toxic, I just wish people wouldn’t abuse the auto silence system and mass report/flag posts they don’t agree with.

Let’s keep it civil and this is a 2004’s veteran take on the current state of WoW

No one is getting reported and silenced for having an unpopular opinion. If threads about keeping wrath era around are getting removed, then it’s likely because they are low effort spam posts.

It’s also curious you have so many disclaimers like you’ve been burnt by getting your posts removed, but only have 4 posts yourself. Seems like you swapped characters to avoid any scrutiny, which may get more people to be trigger happy when it comes to reports.

All of your disclaimers just make your post seem even more insincere and you were just going for character count to make it seem like this post wasn’t a low effort post that is flooding the forums.

Also, as a note, the title says a take on the state of wow, but nothing in this piece is an opinion on the state of wow. It’s just another post about how wrath era should stick around.

tldr: OP wants wrath era because it lets him come and go as he pleases. Anyone against the idea of wrath era are 1984 authoritarians.

They are not spam nearly half as much as some of the other stuff in here.

And also, anyone who has been playing since 2004… (100% of every poster who ever “unsubs” says that every single time no matter what), but if he truly HAS been here since 04 and is still here now…then yea. He aint unsubbing right now because of this.

I’d try and point out examples of low effort posts, but they got removed (or maybe they never existed :illuminati-sounds:)

I dunno, when people get riled up over a topic and start making claims posts are getting removed, I don’t really see it myself, because the post is removed. So it’s hard to say if its actually happening, or people are just pretending its happening to get some faux outrage going.

It’s called saturation, attrition, burn out. This timeline you listed and I quoted is literally 10 years.

The game didn’t “become bad”. You got bored. I for one love, absolutely adore, Fallout New Vegas. It is one of my top games of all time. I have over 2000 hours on Fallout NV, base game. It went up another 1000 hours with mods.

I haven’t touched it since like 2017. It’s been 6 years and I haven’t played? Why? Because I’m bored of it. Me being bored doesn’t take away it’s status or how I feel about it, but, that status and love doesn’t compel me to play it every single day till the sun burns out.

You got bored. Move on. It’s ok.

I mean, first you post on a sock puppet claiming how awesome you are because you have undying … then you switch to your current toon and post in the thread … then make a new thread under the current toon … now this thread … I mean, no reason at all. Right?

I know a player who has been around since 2004 that doesn’t support the current thing messes with your guys wiring, but here I am.

my next post is going to be about how WoW’s story isn’t good anymore. are you going to flag that too?

I think it bothers you guys A LOT that a player like me, someone who has been around since 2004 and has undying/other feats of strength, doesn’t support the current thing.

it messes with your wiring because you guys are so hopelessly addicted.

You have 20k+ achievement points if I recall correctly and “of the black harvest”.

Let’s all compare how much better we are than him to deflate his ego a bit. Nearly every achievement doopy has I have too, yet he somehow thinks having undying with ICC gear makes him some sort of pariah in the game. It’s really sad.

Ooo … OP … I have Master of All (professions) through WoD and you don’t have any of them. Come at me bro.

geez you guys are so sad. you are going to compare a solo achievement to a time limited raid group effort?

I had to form the raid/pick the right people, and then execute every single mechanic perfectly.

there are several one shot mechanics regardless of gear in Naxx.

that’s why undying is a feat of strength, and you DON’T HAVE IT.

but anyway I’m done replying to you guys. I parked my main for good in my favorite spot, be back in a few years if ever.

I am still going to make my posts until December 12th.

When that solo achievement is owned by 1/5th of the amount of players that have the raid achievement, was also time limited, and by its very nature of being a solo achievement literally cannot be carried, unlike Undying which only requires you to not die while the other 9 people carry you through the raid? To be perfectly honest, it’s not a comparison in the first place, and not for the way you think it is…

And you don’t have Breaker of the Black Harvest, an objectively much more difficult achievement to have gotten

hey immortal and realm first lk killer here just wanted to say great thread nobilise I have to admit it’s kind of lonely being the only immortal player here where twenty-five players must all execute every single mechanic perfectly and it was a really difficult feat of strength and could only be accomplished after hand-picking a group of the most formidable gamers. not nearly as challenging as assembling a team for the realm first lich king kill of course. anyway I just wanted to say that everyone in this thread is very mad and there should not be wrath era servers and cata was the best expansion right after shadowlands i’m gonna hop off here now and go back to enjoying my fulfilling job and loving family peace out bros i am over the age of 25 by the way I am not a child many of my insults and complexes revolve around maturity and ability.
