A 12-Hr. Cooldown Is Too Long

I long have thought the CD for certain WoW toys is too long, but 12 HOURS for the Atomic Recalibrator? I recently bought it, but never imagined the CD would be that long.

Because the fun toys get slapped with an absurdly ridiculously long CD.

I feel this way about the Jar of Sunwarmed Sand. 24 hour cooldown on that one. Ridiculous.

You think that’s bad? Some toys have a 24 hour CD…

I agree the cd is way to long. I how ever will log onto my alts to use it. My favorite place to drop it is in the portal room where everyone ports in to.

12 hour CD for something with separate CDs between characters on an item that does not disappear when the user logs out, and a buff that lasts an hour, into combat and through death.

Just for that, two~four people can cosmetically race change a group for an entire raid.

If they made any further changes, they will just nerf fun more

Holy moly… I don’t have that toy, but now I’ll be looking it up. (I don’t care how cool or fun a toy is deemed to be. A 2-to-3-hour CD should be the maximum, IMO.)

Ha! I may give that a go. People also suggest dropping it in front of the AH, which seems like another good option.

I used to do that in BfA with those spray paint toys from Mechagon that turned people blue, green or orange.

I’d sometimes put all three down, sort of like portal roulette that mages like to do.

So you’re the culprit behind that version of shenanigans…

I still have hundreds of those stored from my mechagon days. If you get sprayed in this day and age, it’s probably because of me.

might had the cd might not have did not buy it but seems to get replaced as fast as it was destroyed

I wish Engineers had a CD reduction tool.

While there doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to CD times, it does give them some character so they don’t feel like a spread sheet designed system.

And I likely would buy it, if it existed; then I wouldn’t feel compelled to gripe in the GD forum about the length of CD’s.

I won’t deny that it gives them some character; I still think that 12–and especially 24–hours is too long for any in-game toy. Heck, I’d accept a 4-hour CD, which still seems long–but it sure beats a 12-hour one.

There is no reason for most of those toys to have a longer than 10 second cd.

:oncoming_police_car: fun detected , back to grinding like a second job .

Fun is only allowed every 12-24 hours or not at all.

Be grateful most toys don’t get “nerfed” for being too fun.

I remember Aviana’s Feather in WoD was one of the most fun toys in the game but could only be activated in Nagrand. It wasn’t even hard to get, I remember trying to use it to escape world pvp and being chased across the ocean to frost fire on multiple occasions by people who also had it.

Even that was too much fun for blizzard and they stealth nerfed it to make it basically pointless and still only usable in one zone.
