99% of dungeon groups are waiting for tanks

That would surprise me, because of all the TWW dungeons I have queued for as a tank while leveling characters in dungeons, not a single dungeon queue did not pop instantly. I even got satchels as a sub max tank.

Tanking in this expansion is less fun. Relying on some random healer to keep you alive after you’ve used all your defensive cd’s and are out of heals because dps thinks you should have pulled the entire room and does it for you…just sucks.

I chain pulled mobs in an m0(stonevault) with no healer present and it took the remaining 3 other members of the group plus myself collectively until we were looking at the first boss to notice. We had just been that conditioned to use stuns and personal cooldowns that we survived all of it without an issue.
The problem isn’t tanks rely on healers, it’s that tanking is boring and most people who pick up a tank spec do so begrudgingly because the alternative is higher role competition.

Relying on some tank to do stuff just sucks. Should remove tanks from game.

And they kind of have, by making them not needed in heroics.

I don’t think healers are happy either :rofl:

Healers on the forums seem to want to go afk and get loot. Anything more than that, it’s too much.

Then we have the other spectrum that want the complete opposite.

Healing is not fun without possibility of death.

Nah buddy , group = 100% carry . You can’t hit rank 1 in wol without the help of 19 other ppl , if you never needed then you would solo it .

In solo nobody is there to carry you , you do it yourself or get bricked permanently

Both raiding and high end m+ are forced socialization mechanics basically ultimatums, either you do or don’t raid , do or die , live or die . If players were given a real choice to group up or not - progression guild would become an endangered species

Its not that, its the onbnoxious DPS who think M0 ’ and below have a timer. THIS COMMUNITY HAS CHASED AWAY ANYONE WHO WAS EVER THINKING OF TRYING TANK!!!

But here’s the thing: in solo, there’s no chance for you to compensate for other people’s failures.

And as you can see from delves alone, people are complaining about how things are impossible.

Almost everyone complaining about delves has been complaining about groups tho so it ain’t that.

There are plenty complaining about stuff solo. They need to rely on brann to carry them.

Generally speaking if you have a long queue that actually means there is more people in the role you are trying to fill, not less.

Clearly the solution is to *looks at TWW dungeon changes* make tanks even squishier and die more quickly unless they’re being player perfectly.

I have liked tanking on my paladin alt since WotLK (I was scared to until some guildies that were running 10 man normal TotC needed a tank and persuaded me to try) and then I have kind of liked doing it and was tanking heroic 10 man raids for a while, but eventually settled into a medium-ish level of play

This expansion, I have gotten very tired of

  • dps constantly rushing ahead and pulling
  • the “gogogogogogoggo pull 9000 piles of trash faster faster faster” mentality

Maybe i am waiting a few seconds for something to come off cooldown
maybe I notice that something is amiss in the group (someone lagging behind, people are at 50% hp, healer is low on mana, etc…)
maybe I am not super familiar with that dungeon yet as a tank
maybe i know that certain pulls have mobs in them that have a nasty effect (like the opening to the stonevault) and that pulling multiple of them is a bad idea
maybe I am still figuring out where/when I can pull a bit of extra
maybe i’m taking a moment to look at a piece of gear that I just got and deciding if I want to equip it or not

After seeing tanks behavior in Cinderbrew or Priory mindlessly doing a mass pull without consideration that a healer in the group might be new and trying to learn the role especially at heroic difficulty…

It was deserved.

NGL I stopped tanking as my main role when M+ came out. M+ totally sucked any potential for fun out of the game.

Remove Death Strike from the game.
Give zero compensation for its loss.

I have had a solution to this problem for +10 years, told probably 25 people and maybe mentioned it on the forums once. Make a new class, Tinker, only 2 specs tank/heals. Its not a permanent class but a new temporary one. its a crafted inventory item(maybe toy) that is a engineering crafted mech suit that makes enables all class to que for content as heals or tank. make it op but unable to be used in m+ and raids, problem solved. solves que problems and gets more people in the drivers seat. if they like it then people will op-in to playing a tank.

Seriously, they can be downright obnoxious, dear trigger happy dps in mythic 0 (formally m+10) I slow down because of cooldowns so I can hold threat and don’t die!

I was not a tanky boi before (except legion, but like people weren’t stupid then).
