9.2 seems meh

There doesn’t seem like there is much excitement for 9.2. New raid and double legendary … seems like that sums it up? Ooo yeah class sets …. Seems like just another grind and doesn’t seem to be all that exciting, it came 2 patches to late.

Am I wrong?

There’s also a whole new zone to explore and do things in too. The Cypher system sounds interesting. But it’s typical patch stuff. New zone, raid, system updates, things to collect and grind. Unless you’d rather stay in Korthia till 10.0.

9.2 meets all the standards of a solid major patch. And not all of it was revealed either, there’s usually a bunch of smaller things we’ll see get added throughout the PTR later.

The lateness doesn’t matter. We’re getting it now, or soon, and that’s reason to be happy. It’s new content to liven things up for awhile.

Well…the world is what we make it. So, what do you want out of WoW, that they can do within the span of a patch, that would make the game exciting? Preferably, something that has NOTHING to do with dungeons, raids, or M+?

I have a few ideas:

  1. A ‘ghost’ wing of Torghast, with the spirits of creatures and enemies from Azeroth’s past as the antagonists. Rotate the boss fights daily (make a list of thirty or forty bosses), and along with ash and the usual Torghast stuff, rewards from the bosses include rare drops from their Azeroth counterparts (with a +4.4% drop increase).

  2. A wing of Torghast dedicated to a gauntlet mode of play. Every five, ten or fifteen levels surpassed awarding a stash of standard Torghast stuff, along with contemporary gear at a decent level.

  3. Events similar to warfronts, where Zovaal and his minions are outright attacking locations on Azeroth. Heavy on events where we have to save civilians, and where we’re assisted by old school Factions. Fighting side by side with the likes of Therazane or Shang Xi’s Temple to ward off soul ripping fallen angels would be fun.

  4. Dead Azerothian and Outland raid bosses, with enhanced power / levels, should join the Theater of Pain. And they should be PISSED at us

  5. For PvP, a gigantic race track constructed around the entirety of Maldraxxus’ circle (somewhat equal to that path for the daily where you light the braziers). Four teams of five participants, each team representing one of the covenants. THEN, make combat one part Mario Kart, and one part Mad Max: Fury Road. Death metal bands, flamethrowers, random bombs, raiders and assassins jumping on your rides, the works. Spots on the ground where you get abilities, speed boosts, etc.

What do you expect? it’s the same every patch. been this way for ages. New reps, new grinds, new rares, new toys, new mounts…etc. Nothing new has happened in ages.

Yeah its standard. But that’s kinda the problem. I don’t think they realized how big this patch needed to be. Oh well :man_shrugging:t6:

They expect WoW to stop being WoW and become a different game that doesn’t exist

What else were people expecting? It’s too far off to really know but it seems reasonably promising so far. The ptr will really be the test though of course.

You don’t want to grind an alphabet so you can see the flavor text of merchants where they say, “Greetings, adventurer?”

/gasp

Yeah these people keep grabbing onto false hope and their illusions that somehow next patch or expansion will be different. That copium is addictive.

Tell me you didn’t pay attention to the trailer without telling me you never paid attention to the trailer…

Might come as a surprise to you, but people can enjoy Torghast.

Quit being a wet blanket.

It’s the same as any given content patch. People are expecting expansion-level changes to “save” Shadowlands from a content patch and it’s not realistic.

If you are unhappy with an expansion’s core design, you will be unhappy with it with any given patch.

Come back in 10.0 if that’s you, to see if they’ve made good changes.

No, sadly. I mean a new raid/zone etc is to be expected. If a major patch dropped without a raid, I think people would be pretty salty. That said, no new lore dungeons and nothing really to get excited about. A 2nd legendary is fine I guess, but that just seems like more grinding and gold sinks and actually feels bad when your covenant legendary is barely a 1% bonus over wearing a regular piece. Like you said, these are things that should have been in with 9.0, not 9.2.

Given I haven’t completed the Maw chain and got about 1 weeks into Korthia before giving it a big “nope not fun” I doubt the new zone will change anything. I mean, what will the new zone have in it? A time-gated rep grind, some gear sockets and rares? Nah thanks.

At best I’ll raid log like I do now, but it’s getting harder and harder to justify $2 an hour for WoW.

If they made the classes fun to play again, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.

The new zone in 9.2 reminds me of a remake of Ulduar.

yes plz :raised_hands:

Not at all.

I’ll be very interested to see how it fairs when Endwalker hits the streets.
