9.2 scythe bug

Posted this on the 9.2 discussion but figured I would post it here as well;
Upon trying out the new scythe pole arms coming out, they appear to be upside-down when sheathed (the top of the scythe is pointed down into the characters back instead of above their head), this looks very wrong and all of the other scythe pole arms in the game do not look like this when sheathed. (See scythe of the unmaker, spooky scythe, elemntium poleaxe, and many more for examples of what they look like)
Please fix the appearance of these, I was really excited for these appearances and was extremely disappointed to find out they’re upside down, they look so cool and the way they are positioned now honestly ruins the look.

That’s really odd, since it’s modeled after the Balance Druid MT appearance. And kinda dumb. :slightly_frowning_face:

I’ve noticed this bug since Shadowlands launch. It seems to happen to all scythes created in SLs that are classified as a polearm weapon. Take a look at the Thornsweeper Scythe, and Duskwarder Scythe, both of which are also upside down and stabbing through our backs and arms. Please fix, Blizz!

That’s such a shame, I didn’t even notice that. I really hope they make a change to it, I really like how they look a lot

Variety is the spice of life.

Some swords sheather on the back some pole-arms sheathe a different direction

I say leave it.

Now what should blizz do?

I mean, if some people really like it they could add a transmog option for people who want it flipped upside-down
Like a button to change the direction of it or something

I have been asking for this option on 1h weapons (swords, axes, daggers, etc) since mop and Monks were added to have all 1h swords equipped on their back. I am sure Blizz will get right on this. :unamused:

I’m pretty sure it’s the clipping issue that’s the problem.

If Blizzard had somehow gotten them to NOT clip upside down, sure, it’d be fine.

Clipping through the wielder? So, do you take damage when sheathing it on the back? Do you take damage when moving? If not, then it’s a bug.

I’m becoming more and more disappointed upon every new polearm mog I collect from Zereth Mortis.

  • Marzan’s Dancing Twin-Scythe (The one I’ve anticipated the most after seeing it on maw mobs)
  • High Reaver’s Sickle
  • Rotculler’s Encroaching Shears

I’m sure a lot more people are going to be disappointed come raid launch when they finally get ‘Zovastrum, the Unmaking’, an energy bladed scythe they can equip without being a druid and find out it’s upside-down and clipping. Please fix this, Blizz.

The Zovastrum scythe is what got me excited too, the proportions of it (and the others) just don’t look right when worn upside down… it’s very top heavy and imagining it fitting on your characters back the right way looks so good & compliments your characters frame. I do hope they take another look at them, I wonder if this was an intended change or not. Seems weird to suddenly flip the direction of the scythes when all the other ones in game sit differently. I’m surprised not that many people have commented about it yet, but I’m sure like you said when they start to drop for more people they’ll notice and make comments

So many other issues in the game right now. I doubt they’ll ever get around to fixing this one. Sadge.

The head of the scythe looks really heavy compared to the shaft, though. It looks normal for it to be upside down.

I believe its the way it should be. If you unsheath your weapon you would see that the animation flows better when the tip of the polearm is on your lower back. For me it never made sense that the tip of the polearm was on your left shoulder as when you go to unsheath the weapon it instantly jumps to your right hand (why is the whole universe of WoW right handed btw?).

Think this brings up a bigger issue. Blizz need to give us an option to xmog weapon positions on our toons.

Spears should sit on the back like staves, though. Most do. It just looks better. Bo-Ris, Horror in the Night would look stupid upside down.

Actually,that is a good idea. Please,add.

Scythe of the Unmaker is a polearm that sits correctly on the back with the blade upright and no clipping. So clearly, this new one is a bug.
