I must say blizzard…I’m am very disappointed. What use is such a rare/hard-to-get/time-consuming mount if it moves at 60% speed.
It is bugged. It is actually the best mount in the game, in my opinion. Or it will be, when it is fixed.
The bug is that it only shows “swim speed” when you are in a non-flying zone.
Anywhere else, it increases your speed on land, in air, and underwater. It’s all terrain, bro.

I’m not convinced…one guy claimed to have opened a ticket and the GM basically
told him to learn to read.

GM’s are not all-knowing and if that’s true that your friend opened a ticket, they may have just came across a GM who is wrong. It happens.

Here is the tooltip when you are in Dalaran (or any zone that isnt flight restricted)
but in places like ZM, it only mentions swim speed. The tooltip changes from zone to zone.

It’s just disappointing…I was pretty happy to farm this thing up…and then I get it and BAM…literally no point to using it or even having it on my bars, honestly.
Until it gets fixed anyway. It will get fixed.

Well, blizz is very specific in the actual item tooltip - that it is just as at home in the air as it is in water. It makes sense that it can move at a normal speed in flying zones to me.
I think it’s just a weird bug. It works fine for me in most places. Not in ZM, though. It is the first mount that I know of, that is land, sea, and air. I don’t know if this bug was a thing in PTR.
