9.2 Datamining has begun

Well as I explained it earlier it just seems to me that the only thing this does is help the Horde and grinds incredibly coarse salt into the NE wounds again.
First they burn your country down, kill your family and now you’re begging for their handouts.

No revenge, no justice, no resolution except for the aggressors to absolve themselves of anything wrong.

I think the key here is to understand that the Horde cannot ever atone for what they did so they are better off not doing anything to make it worse.

Oh, I wasn’t disagreeing with you.

More making a commentary about how we never see restitutions or resolutions, just everyone being pals again after the Horde did an oopsy mass murder thing.

Well thrall did kill Garrosh for his crimes… at least there was that.

There is, yes. But even that was about failing the Horde. Thrall says it in the Nagrand cinematic, growls at Varian over the Alliance taking Garry in SoO, and only settles down when a panda points out that Garry’s crimes were pretty indiscriminate.

Thrall’s not executing Garrosh because of what Garrosh did to the Alliance. Thrall’s pissed Garrosh was a disgrace.

Side note: While double checking the SoO cinematic, I was reminded how awkward Anduin’s teen model looks.

No that must be a wierd Russian translation. Policeman is “cop” in slang.

Daemon is Greek, it means nothing in English. There’s no direct translation for rhis word in the english language but it’s common in Greek especially in Plato’s writing. It means spirits, especially spirits of intellegence that govern the soul. There’s really no other English word except maybe “angel.”

Yeah… Blizzard trying to prove Horde is not a pushover somehow always blows in Alliance faces narratively. Even though a resolution is needed.

I had to do a bit of googling to find this but I found it pretty funny.

OK. It’s not for me to discuss the meaning of words with a native speaker.
But still curious why the recommended translation is daemon.

It is good know know what you are really saying though. I agree Tyrande being a lawful character as a spirit of justice would fit her character.

It’s purely meant to give the Night Elves something instead of what they’ve been getting. Making it a multifaction event both makes it more likely that it’ll get actual effort put into it instead of making it a footnote in a book and that it’ll make Blizzard deal with the Horde’s involvement in the entire thing.

Um … “Daemon” was mistakenly used as an empty curse. I meant the “demon”, the inhabitants of the underworld and stuff like that.

An empty curse. Assumption about the attitude of the developers towards “satisfying the desire for revenge of the night elves by killing the Jailer.” Assumption about the intelligence of the developers.

Mda. Nice blank. Or bad.

I understand, but in my opinion what the Night Elves should be getting is not something that makes things worse by making Night Elves beggars of the Horde. If they are going to be getting a rebuild then they can do it themselves or with Alliance help.

The Horde has its own rebuilding to do. The forsaken are just as homeless.
If there will be a reconstruction event, then have each faction deal with their own construction project.

Sylvanas and the Horde passing out cookies to the women and children that they did not manage to kill to make amends for the ones that they did manage to kill is incredibly in poor taste in my opinion.
It achieves nothing besides making things even worse for Alliance and Night Elf players to tell them they are incapable of even taking care of themselves.

…you assume that the writers of BFA and SL have common sense?..

Oh I think they absolutely do have common sense. But they just don’t care about the franchise they are writing for.

Its all about the short term rather than the long term it seems.

well, I don’t mean ‘lack of common sense’ in that they’d do something like play in traffic- I guess I meant their inability to NOT make their pet characters all-important and have them act in any way shape or form that’s logical, in-universe and out-.

I don’t trust this narrative because I don’t trust the devs to handle the full scope of her lore correctly.

Especially not the Faustian pact they (Ion, Afrasiabi) chose to assign to when she killed herself off ICC due to despair.

And if they force her redemption arc to be tied to her forgiving Arthas, that sends a Very Bad message.

Just because a Survivor Becomes An Abuser doesn’t mean their own abuse should be discredited.

That’s my friends blog lol. The original post is from Makani. Who is a gift to this fanbase. Yeah, her reading of War Crimes from Tyrande’s PoV is a gut punch but a smidge hyperbolic. I like her takes, they make WoW better.

I have seen her comics often. They bring more character and joy to the wow cast of characters that over a decade of writing has failed to do.

I thought that Daemon meant Deity…

By that definition all the Gods & Demigods of WoW are Daemons! Which explains why Paul called the Greek Gods Daemons!

A Daemon is an intermediary umbrella category of sorts between the greater gods and mankind in Graeco-Roman mythology. They ranged from minor spirits to minor gods, but in general were not worshipped.

They could be divided between a Cacodæmon and Eudæmon, which were bad or good respectively, but not all fell into those sorts of easy categories.

At least we now know what Energy the Automa and other Progenitor creations use: Ephemera!

Since I’m sure Ephemera is used by all Progenitor facilities I’m filing all Screenshots of Ephemera Spells in a separate Folder from the Other Cosmic Forces!
