Exactly, I don’t care about the rating per say (have been 2k-2.2k a few times), I just want to not be at a gear disadvantage on top the skill disadvantage I guess I have.

I played all of WoD just loving PVP the entire time. Lots of alts and lots of fun.
Fair gear is more fun.

I’m not, not supporting it. I’ve gotten into other disputes with people over a similar misconception.
It’s very possible to debate something in a certain context while simultaneously not necessarily supporting that same something.
For example, I can be against police brutality while simultaneously not considering Floyd a martyr.
Or, perhaps a more appropriate example. I was frequently called out for “defending convoke” however I merely called out the terrible options people chose to counter it. I myself started multiple threads and advocated heavily for two changes to it (one of which happened, the removal of full moon) however because I “defended it” in any context it was assumed I thought it was perfect.
I don’t hate the idea at all of two gear sets. I’d be stoked about it, or at the very least indifferent on a personal level. I also however don’t like people constantly saying they’re held back from their “deserved rating” because they’re getting queue sniped and farmed by glads and awc players. The gear disadvantage is in fact a disadvantage. No one can dispute that. In a perfect competitive format, gear should be equal. Hence the tourney realm.
However blizz is trying to balance the mmo genre traits and appease everyone. Some people like progression in gear. So they’re trying to add it, but to a smaller degree. I can respect the decision because despite what these forums of 20 people say, they don’t own the opinion of the entire playerbase. And that’s just me playing the devil’s advocate, not preaching my personal beliefs. I’m somewhat indifferent. I mean eventually people are going to plateau anyway so one set of conquest gear isn’t too different at the end of the day to someone like myself. So I really would be perfectly fine with that and if it appeases the majority, so be it. But I promise the same people stuck at whatever rating now would still be stuck there.

I still don’t get what all the fuss is about. It’s actually a good change and at least Blizzard is listening. Again, this is an MMO and there SHOULD be progression in an MMO. Blizzard is not gonna just GIVE you free Duelist gear, my guys. They want you to earn it and to be honest, 2100 I would say is a fair rating requirement for the best pvp gear in the game, my guys. 
When did I say that? I said that going against that sucks with a disadvantage, I never said anything about it being the reason I am stuck at 1.9-2k.
This is all I am trying to raise my hand for and giving some examples of less than stellar experiences I have been through because of this system. And that allowing me to gear other toons would motivate me to play them.
MoP didn’t have “duelist gear” nor did WoD. We are hoping for similar systems.
We already have a blomberg. We don’t need another one. We need no Blomberg’s. Go away.

If the good change just brings us closer to where rating does not matter, why not go all in?
It was a better change when Honor gear was 242, then they changed it to 233 making it bad again.
If Blizzard was really listening, they would not be giving us more of the same.
If they were really listening they would make gearing much less of a factor in PvP.
If they were really listening, they would not be sticking with rating gates on gear.
If they were really listening they would be shrinking the ilvl gap to 10.
Blizzard has not even acknowledged the massive outcry since this system was unveiled in the last few days of SL beta and every day since.
That tells me either they hear us and are not understanding (doubtful).
Or, they hear us, understand us, don’t want to give up on their new system, but have no acceptable justification for why this is better than what players have been asking for since WoD.

Blizzard isn’t gonna hand you free Duelist gear, my guy. Gotta queue up and earn that rating. I did it and im terrible at this game, my guy… 
I guess my post was more to the game designers than that guy.

There’s no “shtick” or trolling here at least from me. I’m just simply saying, if you want the best gear in the game, you’re going to have to queue it up, my guy, and do your best. 2100 rating is a fair requirement. Keep in mind the best gear back in the day was 2200. 
Remember the days when we could do unrated PvP for BIS gear?

Actually in MoP/WOD the best gear was just for queuing any rating, and MoP was absolutely the golden age of PvP. Participation was off the charts and game play was amazing. Let’s get back to that. 2 sets, 1 honor 1 conquest. Make it happen blizzard.

I mean personally I q rated and enjoy it far more than unrated, but yes, from an alt perspective gearing up as rapidly as possible, i did enjoy q’ing bg’s and farming the good gear.
PvP gearing should be as simple as possible. No need for there to be external chores that have to be done to be competent in pvp.

There shouldn’t even be “duelist” gear, just aspirants and gladiators. The entire system is flawed and the participation numbers reflect just how bad it is. (Coming from someone who is usually 2.4+ each season) this system is awful.

These trolls don’t want you having equal gear because it affects their egos. Not everyone plays a two button spec like BM so it’s best to pretend they don’t exist.
Blizzards balancing is so bad and gear gaps just make it worse. All these “Mah RPG” guys have no life outside WoW. They have endless time to dedicate to rerolling the FOTM meta classes and they want their game time to be more valuable than yours. Notice all of them are druids or BM hunters or have a hidden profile. Lol.
