9.1.5 - Isnt even an update. This is sad

It’s not. It is literally on the Maw map as an area in that zone.

They don’t function in the Maw either anymore. Thankfully, since it’s the worst zone Blizzard has ever created in the game.

Actually it is an update. You have no idea what you’re talking about

So then I guess Westfall and Duskwood are not different zones either then. I mean, you can see the name of both zones on the map of the Elwynn Forest…

Oh wait, you mean, they are zones, even though you can see the names and click them to bring up the map for said zone? Well, what do you know…

It’s like people manage to forget every single expansion that x.x.5 patches are not content patches.

Appeasing is a more appropriate word. No one asked for the censorship.

That’s not a content patch. It’s an update to current content: ie, systems and legion TW. They worded it very tricky like, but that’s easy to do for a team led by a lawyer.

Look at the size (or lack thereof" of Korthia. Look at the flight path between Korthia and Ven’ari - a teensy little distance in THE SAME ZONE.

Stop apologising for half-baked design. Comparing the garbage that is the Maw and Korthia to huge actual zones like the ones from vanilla… it’s not even a vaguely fair comparison.

Korthia is another “grind island,” nothing more.

The one thing the devs keep missing about why Pointless Isle was popular is simple: it was actually a pleasant place to be for a year and a half, rather than a dystopian hell-hole.

Yep. And that tells you everything you need to know about how development for the game is going right now.

Weasel words and misleading titles, in the hope that at least a few remaining subscribers will fall for the idea that there’s actually new content right now.

Considering x.5 patches aren’t content patches, I don’t know what you were expecting lol.

This patch was literally just some quality of life system changes + a time walking event and they never claimed otherwise.

It’s around the same size as the Timeless Isle, which was also a new zone and not just a ‘part of the Jade Forest’.

Yeah, it’s a flight path… there are quite a few, and the distance you travel is substantial. It’s roughly the same distance if one were to fly from Stormwind to the Furlbrow Farm in Westfall.

It’s a new zone.

Blizzard calls it a new zone. Wowpedia calls it a new zone, Wowhead calls it a new zone. Icy-Veins calls it a new zone.

It’s a new zone.

Pointless Isle was literally copy-and-pasted assets from Jade Forest, presumably done as an experiment to see if recycled assets could be repurposed to make a grind zone based on the experiments and lessons learned from 5.3.

It did have the advantage of being an aesthetically pleasant place to be, something nobody could say for Korthia.

And yet the distance you travel across this “new zone” is not substantial.

It’s an area.

Multiple content creators, from Preach to Taliesin to multiple podcasters, disagree.

Regardless, it’s just another “grind island,” and an unpleasant one to be in at that (a big effort after the dustbowl aesthetic of Mechagrind, but I guess Blizzard had to excel at SOMETHING this year…)

Assets get reused in game development. News at 11.

Timeless Isle was still a new zone that was added to the game. That is a simple, recognized fact.

Korthia is roughly the same size as the Timeless Isle, and it needs to be roughly the same size because flying is not enabled there and likely will never be, meaning everything needs to be fairly close together so it can be reached easily on ground mounts.

You can whinge and whine about how you think it’s an area all you want, just like flat earthers can whinge and whine about how the earth is flat for as long as they want.

You’re both wrong.

Nowhere near as much as they did on Pointless Isle (i.e 100% of the zone was copy-pasted assets).

Guess I can wait for you to compare me to an anti-vaxxer next, then?

Korthia is low-effort content. Simple as that. It’s been blatantly clear how it’s failing to hold player interest since the majority hit 80 Renown, because outside of that, all it offers is a torturous mega-grind to get access to another mega-grind to get gear that’s still 30 item levels below raid gear.

Making a tiny “zone” and packing it jam-full of aggro doesn’t make it engaging, it just makes it a chore - a chore that most players seem to be thankful is over.

No, because anti-vaxxers are actually killing people…

Flat earthers are just stupid and wrong.

… There is no proof they’re killing people other than themselves. You’re able to prove people wrong or whatever but can we leave the pandemic out of this forum. I’m honestly sick and tired of seeing people talk about it as it’s like beating a dead horse.

Let me stop you right there…

Any person that bought into anti-vaxxer BS, and then died as a result of that BS (especially with respect to COVID), was killed by an anti-vaxxer. That’s just a simple fact.

That’s all that needs to be said on the matter. I’m not debating it.

It’s mostly a quality of life update with some cosmetics thrown in. I’m glad they are listening.

However it could be some twisted mind game… where they won’t budge on things at the start of the expac so they can seem like heroes later on when they start listening. /conspiracytheory

That is derived from the algorithm forum warriors cant understand. Specially the ones that use the “freedom is inherently a good thing” moto as argument:

"If X is said to the ignorant, and the ignorant is led to act upon X, the one saying X is responsible for the act of the ignorant, as much as the ignorant themselves."

It can be sought around this forum, most arguments about choice and freedom hinges on the fact that people want to be free and not responsible. They want things done, but they dont want to face the costs and consequences of that.
As much as they want the game to suit their needs as thinking “what is best to the individual is best to the group of individuals”.

Not even Adam Smith said that, he simply states that is not for the altruism of the brewer or the baker that we get our beer and bread, but their self interest in having the means to get what else they want and they dont make. This is said to imply self interest is good, but that is not true. Adam Smith himself states in other books (Wealth of Nations is 5 books, not 1), and in his book Theory of Moral Sentiment, he explains that human nature is basically driven to monopolistic competition, and left by itself, the self interest is an all consuming nature that end up like a ouroboros, and mostly, what is driven by self interest only is detrimental for the one self with that interest.

That is where people come with that phrase "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” which can be met with the simple “The problem with capitalism is that you eventually run out of people to profit from”.

Both come from the same problem: Society, Capital, Health, Security, are all public things that cannot be left to individuals alone to benefit from, and cannot be left to check themselves.

At the end of the day, from the simple this game had dipped in quality trying to cater to a demographic that doesnt care about the quality of the game overall, but just to the extent of their gameplay to the this country has gone asunder because no one care about the people as long as their own interests are met, comes from that simple reasoning, that the “self interest” being a motivator makes it “good”, and that no one is responsible for some body else’s action.

When you say “Left things in” please enlighten me on what was so bad that it needed to be removed for OUR own good?
