It was a stupid race to begin with, but now that they exist, I’m not saying they shouldn’t be used. The complaint is that I feel that the horde player has less reason to care because any ties they had aren’t going explored as well. Just like how some people find it disappointing that the spiritual side of shamanism is being set aside in Shadowlands.
Just like it was disappointing and ridiculous Natalie Seline isn’t an undead
From what can be seen today on the story forum, if the night elf civilian can’t beat the whole horde alone, if the night elf god isn’t the most powerfull/unique or if Tyrande can’t one shot everybody, its all a middle finger to the poor night elf player.
But anyone who are tired of this overpowered powerfantasy and who are happy with night elf just being like other race ,is just a toxic troll who only think about himself…
Meanwhile, 3/4 of the playable race can’t even do anything because how weak and useless they are against WoW most important villain…
So with the shadowmoon clan now you have also built a bridge to the void, so I think that’s what it will be about, shadowmoon - clan and void elves both have strong “anti-attitudes” to the void and still use it as a weapon.
Maybe.
To be honest I constantly forget the Shadowmoon are even a thing, since I don’t think the horde player interacts with them during WoD. I think I would have preferred Forgotten Shadow stuff instead, but the whole Natalie Seline thing that Baal pointed out is…eh.
Only the corrupted Shadowmoon use void. Traditional Shadowmoon (aka our Maghar) use elements, arcane, and death magics.
Old school Shadowmoon in the Horde use Fel.
Don’t we see in the mag’har recruitingquest an void using shadowmoon?
We see “Darkcasters” but it’s not stated what magic they’re using; again, AU Shadowmoon Clan had void magic forbidden to them
No, we see what’s left of their clan, but there is no void usage. People forget that the SM split between those that stayed loyal to their principles with Rulkan, and those that gave into the Void under Ner’zhul (when they were desperately trying to find a weapon that would satisfy Grom). Those that sided with Ner’zhul were pretty much consumed by the Void. Ideologically, those who sided with Rulkan wont touch void.
Darkcasters really just refer to Death Magic (which they do use).
Oky, get it but this means not that they can not lead an hordeoffense against the void.
And the shadowmoonclan is criminaly underused
Nope. Which is why so many of us are a little upset that within the expac of the one cosmological domain the Horde has always had a more nuanced and layered relationship with than the Alliance … the Horde finds little to no relevance. Death was our one domain. The Darkspear and their Patron Loa. The Orcs and Tauren and their Spirit Worship. The Forsaken literally being Undead. And yet … only the first of these has any presence. Tacked on to what is turning out to be a good, interesting, but NE centered story. Beyond that tho? Not much…
It means there is nothing Horde side that ties the Horde to the Void cosmic force.
- Void Elves are Alliance
- Our Shadowmoon (MU and AU) do not use Void
- Natalie Seline of the Cult of Forgotten Shadow was made a living Human, not a Forsaken
Nobody else has explicit Void ties.
Which is literally my point lol
Nope? They cant take a leaderposition against the void on hordeside? Equal to the voidelves?
Must the hordecounterpart against the void use void to count?
The voidelfs are litteraly void-dh’s now. But like demonhunters, they are an answer against the void, not the answer. I think the shadowmoon could be build up as death/elemental magoc using antivoid faction on horde and they didn’t use void but explore it to stop them
SF toxic as ever, this thread a beautiful display.
Half the night elf players: Waah Elune isn’t a First One, as if you even knew what a First One was a couple of months back (and as if it changes her canon powers)
Half the Horde players: waah night elf players wanna be super powerful, as if Elune is personally gonna intervene to give them Ashenvale when the devs have other plans
That is literally the point of my list dude.
The Cult of Forgotten Shadow’s Natalie Seline COULD HAVE been that, but she is a living human.
Why they chose to make the leader of the Forsaken religion a living human is beyond my comprehension.
It’s possible that the light bound caused a shift in that policy.
Nope. We have no Void representation on the Horde. Nor do we really want it with Blizz’s track record on how they treat Horde races. That specific domain is a nightmare waiting to happen for us, we aren’t inherently good to our genetic core like the Void Elves are to resist it. Frankly, if we don’t see any relevance for Baine (in the form of Spirit Worship), or see some resolution for Jin or Bwon in the SLs … the Light cosmology taking on an antagonistic role would be our next hope/bet. With the Forsaken and AU Mag’har maybe getting a chance to subvert the negative expectations of them and show their grit and capacity for virtue.
Certainly, but I will not hold my breath for confirmation within the narrative given such was absent even during the Faction Assault world quests in BFA.
Also, can’t just retcon Natalie Seline as an undead now because they’ve changed her model to be one of the ONLY Black Woman NPC that is Lore-Relevant.
