Can confirm it’s back with the patch; version 9.1.0.39262
same here, and also when u mouseover some name plates enemy, need fix asap
Never had this problem until todays update. Now getting stutter when opening map and other instances such as changing areas within a zone, clicking on quest objects/treasures, and when some enemies die.
Hi I’ve also been experiencing this problem now for a couple of days. I’ve just built a new PC and did a fresh install of WoW and it’s still been doing this since the patch. I doubt it’s my hardware and seeing that I’m not the only one having this issue. I’ve disabled all addons, cleared cache and deleted WTF folder (as I copied it from my old PC to keep settings) and the issue still persists. Current version is 9.1.0.39282. Appreciate any help on this and hope it’s resolved quickly as it takes away from me being able to enjoy the new content!
The problem was fixed but now it’s back for me too! Game version: 9.1.0.39282 . The stuttering only happens if Shadowlands map is open, i can literally be on the map page that has Shadowlands, Outlands, Azeroth and Draenor and have no lag, but the moment I click Shadowlands, the stuttering begins! Hope it gets fixed soon, sadly something broke it again, anyway, thanks Blue!
I can confirm the latest hotfix broke the map again. Also, can confirm it is indeed the Shadowlands map only, all other maps work.
It’s quite obtrusive, especially when hunting rares and treasures in Korthia. Hope the previous fix can fix the problem as soon as possible. Thanks for the replies, Blizzard!
Yeah, it has something to do with how the Shadowlands content is handling map/quest updates that causes the stutters. Gotta love getting a kill and getting FPS drops. It was REALLY bad during my Revendreth trainee mission. Lost 3 FPS each time I got a kill filling up the bar…
Really hope this is fixed. They fixed it in their last hotfix and whatever this current one did just reverted it. Rip.
Update: Our engineers confirmed the bug is back and are working on fixing it again. I don’t know exactly why the previous fix was taken out - but usually when that sort of thing happens it’s because it caused an unforeseen issue and we have to temporarily remove it to tinker with it some more.
Thanks for the update.
Hopefully this is a prioritised bug.
Well, first its the stop action/stutter now its WOW51900319! I was jumping out of a tree, Can’t log in without crash error above.
is this include the stutter when mouseover on npc/players name plate ?
Same issue here.
Surely whatever the previous bug was can’t possibly be worse than something that is impacting every player, right?
this is some macro that is causing stuttering, when i log some new char without any macro, the game is fine.
It’s not the macro at all. This is coming from someone who DOESN’T use macros on his characters. It’s something wonky with the Shadowlands map and how it interacts with the system/questing system.
The macro issue you’re experiencing is another issue.
I am experiencing this as well. But also experiencing the same frame skippage when a quest I am working on progresses. Like I go to kill a mob. It dies. “Bad Maw Guy slained 9 out of 10”. Boom. Hit with frame drops each time the quest text progression changes. Same goes with “fill up a percentage bar” quests as well. Percentage changes and goes up. Hit with fps drops.
Sorry didn’t see this when I posted earlier. As far as I’m aware. It only happens in SL zones. Tested it in Oribos, Arden, Maw, and Korthia. I randomly ported to Tanaris from my toy to test. No problems. Stormwind also has no problems as well.
39282 logged in this morning, issue still occuring only in SL
I’m having the same issue after the hotfix patch, when I open any map interface (M), traveling points, even when I open the shop interface frames drop pretty hard, and when I move starts to stutter, deleted addons, WTF, CACHE folders no fix.
Yeah in addition to the map stutter I get it when enemies die as well. They are enemies I’m killing for a world quest so I wonder if that’s related as people are saying completing quest objectives also seems to be an issue.
In general my FPS has suddenly become terrible with stuttering during all sorts of actions, when it was running smoothly before 9.1. In any case, I’m glad Blizz recognizes this is on their end now (rather than add-on related) and is looking for a fix!
