There is no reason AT ALL why spamming M0 should eventually give top tier M15 gear.
That’s like saying if I do enough LFR then I should start getting mythic raid level drops.
Just say you want free mythic gear and go.

Hard disagree there, but I suppose at that point it may be a skill issue as Ion would say.
Just in my own experience I stopped being at risk of dying from almost anything in the open world around the 200 mark. A few of the maw rares are about the only exception I can think of and they’re usually possible to avoid. I don’t do a ton in the maw though so I’ll concede the later parts may be problematic.
While I love your formatting, you lost my support here.
PvP gear should be good for PvP.
PvE gear should be good for PvE.
PvP gear should be bad for PvE.
PvE gear should be bad for PvP.
They are two completely different playstyles requiring different skill sets / gear sets / specs / etc. Progression in one should not be used to progress in the other.
Low mythic plus give gear lower than WQs - if gear even drops. And solo leveling only provides LFR gear, which is hardly impressive. And there is no chance of lucky upgrades any longer, giving solo players even less reason to run content.
And solo gear has never been this bad since at least Wrath. I think it’s personally reasonable to be annoyed that they nerfed so many gear paths in an attempt to force players into competitive group content.
Fun fact: The more exclusive and hostile they make this game for new players, the faster they will murder the game. There is a nontrivial decay rate in players just from people getting old and quitting. They need to keep new blood coming in. The more exclusive and hostile the game is, the less likely new blood is to come in.
Wow’s original success was due to it being laughably easy and a game literally anyone could play and enjoy. They need to return to that even if it means a bunch of world first players whining. They will find ways to be competitive still, and perhaps the very final bosses of raids can be very hard or they can keep hardmodes/achieves etc. But the core gameplay should offer rewarding progression with minimal effort and maximal return on time. WoW already wastes massive amount of time compared to other games in terms of return on time due to having to level up, travel around, etc. The more they compound the barriers, the faster they will kill wow.
This is basic logic and should be disputed by no one.

Vault rewards are when m+ gearing is focused. Even a 2 gives solid choices if you’re starting out every week.

You can do the whole campaign Solo and come out at 197, and WQs will round out the rest of your slots at 194. LFR is totally irrelevant unless you want a specific drop or memory now.

Yeah I had zero issue in the maw, but I am speaking from what I have seen and heard from other players. I hope you aren’t trying to compare epeens and are actually making some sort of point. But the maw’s design and other aspects of SL are not good for the game. The game is overall much more difficult than prior iterations.
Not sure why there’s emphasis on “only one legendary.” It’s been like that for a long time. Or did we forget Legion?
…If I remember right…we had the research for the 2 legion legendries from expac launch…
It’s not difficult to get into keys if you do it the right way. Players try to skip the line instead of grinding the ladder out. That’s the only way to effectively pug.
I’ve pretty much pugged all of my keys. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. I form my own groups too.

I’m sorry but the difficulty between a +14 and a +10 is not so dramatic that you ought to literally grind each dungeon step along the way. It was awful grinding KSM. You’re literally asking people to run 120 dungeon runs…But ofc Bobby is right there offering you some shiny tokens for a carry. This is exactly how they engineered the game. It’s terrible and is going to kill WoW.

Me too. It still sucks.

That’s why you make friends who share a common goal
No one is going to take you to a 14 if the highest key you’ve timed is a 10. You need to at least do your 12’s and maybe have a 13 or two. That’s just the way it is. There’s no shortage of players that won’t already have those things.

No one made you pug KSM. You chose to not find friends. You chose to not run your own keys. You don’t get to then complain about the realities of pug life.
It’s like hmm
Should I take person a 215 ilvl with only three 10s timed or person b who has KsM and is ilvl 223.
You are paying for a happy meal and complaining you didn’t get filet minon. The game straight up gives you normal raid level gear. After that there is a very clear progression to improve your character. If you choose not to do it that’s on you. Want your filet minon? Play the content that serves it.
I did. And it sounded like you only want to run M0, gather your callings Valor and upgrade to +15.
For clarification, I am not asking for an immediate upgrade to +15, I’d rather grind my way up to +15 than just getting there.
No one is being punished. People need to stop using this term incorrectly.
Alright, I am being discouraged to continue playing solo and it bothers me a lot. Does that sound better for you?

It’s almost like this is and always has been a multiplayer game…
The issue isn’t what you get, it’s how you get it.
Yeah, the game straight up gives you normal raid level gear. It doesn’t actually require you to play for it much, it has no feeling of progression, it’s your happy meal. Empty calories.
I’m paying for that filet mignon, I want a filling meal. I don’t care about ilvl, I want a good game again. At the start they gate you by some arbitrary waiting period, then they just funnel you the best things you can get and that’s the end.
You either go competitive or you’re done.
Doesn’t feel good.
Non-competitive play needs a good-feeling path of progression. It doesn’t have to get me to a place where IO hunters want me on their team for content I don’t even want to run in the first place. It just has to occupy my time and make it feel like I’m working toward something meaningful.
THAT’s the problem with Shadowlands casual content.
i don’t understand the mindset of playing a group game that provides the highest rewards for the most difficult content… and complaining that you’re being “punished” because you can’t get the best rewards playing easy content by yourself.
wouldn’t you be happier playing a single-player game with a cheat/trainer program? now you can go at your own pace and award yourself all the rewards you want.
