I’m just saying it’s a delay cause it is nothing similar to BFA or Legion patch cycles… if anything, it is more similar to WoD style patch cycles… I’m wondering if this expansion is gonna end with 9.2 just like WoD? i really hope not for the good of blizzard, I’m sure many of you who have played WoD know that many people quit because of the content drought and the burn out. I honestly prefer the legion patch cycles when we had content updates every 3-4 months on a regular, just my personal preference.
Nothing like a pandemic to screw up businesses large and small across the world from meeting their schedules, eh?
It’s hitting the ptr in like a week but I wouldn’t worry about it man. When it gets here it gets here.
Same, haven’t been hardcore playing in almost 2 months. Legion had a good pace where I never unsubbed once.
A quick search of the forum using the little eyeglass and a parameter such as “like WoD” would fill you in on the fact that your post is not very original.
Explain yourself please Blizzard…
Is this delay because of the corona thing?? I think most people would be understanding of that…
But what I worry about is that BFA, while not the most fun expansion at least had a decent content release cycle…
It’s almost assuredly at least partially because of Covid. Even if they eventually got their crap together and streamlined things, that would have put a hamper on their progress for awhile. So, maybe they were able to get the base expansion ready to go without THAT much delay (remember it got pushed back a month), but weren’t as far into the next patch’s content as they would normally be at that time.
Well yeah I do think we should be somewhat tolerant of that, that’s reasonable, but given that FF14 still seems to be releasing content at a reasonable enough pace I am not too sure though in fairness they are towards the end of their expansion cycle.
tbf, FFXIV patches are smaller than WoW patches. By a fair amount. There’s also just the possibility that they were better prepared for remote work to begin with though.
Yeah no, they take too long it’ll cause them a sht storm.
I really hope not and frankly I wish they would have stuck with WoD too. There was a ton of great stuff planned (much of it nearly finished) that was scrapped and Legion launched in a pretty rocky state even if it ended up being great. I don’t think the extra dev time helped them they much.
It’ll just be like anything else. A bunch of people crying on the forums lol
It’s amazing how quick people forget that. I mean heck 2 months into the pandemic everyone was complaining and couldn’t understand why everything’s closed.
Put clearly people seem to only care about things when it affects them and impedes their daily way of life.
The truth is man people forget bad stuff really quickly. I have a buddy that works for TSA and a few months after 911 a passenger was very upset he couldnt rush through security and wondering why he needed to be searched. My buddy looked at him and was like you’re kidding me right? You know what happened a few months ago?
They were already looking behind with the rush job that was 8.3 and cutting any 8.3.5 epilogue patch. That was before the pandemic.
9.0 launched about 6 months after what would have been needed for better customer retention and it still needed another 6 months of development to be a truly great expansion. So they are essentially a year behind.
They maybe lost 3 months re-organizing to work from home.
It looks more like they are ramping down production through attrition and are possibly thinking classic and retail player are one big happy family so customer retention wont be problem because players will just switch back and forth.
I’m not so sure that’s really the case.
Shadowlands beta would have been May or June, everything closed in March. Meaning it was nearly complete. Yes we understand delays, but now it seems more like an excuse than reason.
Your constant simping for activision blizzard isn’t any better. Atleast they have a reason to hate, people like you will take anything and that’s why blizzard does the bare minimum if that.
Take too long, people cry
Release too much too fast, people burn through it, they cry
They’re literally caught in the middle of a lose-lose situation. Cant please everyone, so may as well do whatever it is you wanna do
Yeah bro that’s why shadowlands is doing so great right now!.
I don’t think they can cut Shadowlands short in the same way they did with WoD.
Let’s be perfectly honest here, WoD was a throw away expac. Its only point was to give the Legion a way to get back to Azeroth. That’s it. The entirety of WoD could have been the last patch and nothing else and it would have worked fine.
That’s not true with Shadowlands. They are building a much deeper story here and using it as a basis for the story going forward. If they try cutting things short now it could have major consequences for the story for years.
Old news though!
