90 minutes wait time for Solo Shuffle

Ah, let me log in and play a little Solo Shuffle before I start the day.

It is really infuriating how Blizzard won’t do anything, not even share what their plans are to solve the long queue problem. Heck, I will even be ok with them fixing the Wait time to more accurately represent the actual wait time… How can a billion dollar company can’t even get the queue times to display right in the UI???

Hire people and have them play healer in the Solo Shuffle queue all day haha.

Quit this week on both healers.

They should just remove the mode entirely. It’ll take too long to see any response and I’m sure the incentive they’ll come up with is “more conquest and honor” which no healer cares about.

Ppl are waiting for the weekly restart update.

They’re not, healers don’t care about playing lopsided matches going 3-3 with no rating change or getting trained with 40seconds of CC and doing zero healing.

How about we start with a 80% dmg nerf on all dps and slowly remove it as the match progresses. When dps hit for 2k and nobody’s health bar moves, let’s see how much they enjoy playing.

You can’t solve queue times, Solo Shuffle will be a perma 30-40 min queue game mode because healing randoms isn’t fun especially in an arena environment.

Because its a hard issue to tackle. Its not a tuning issue its a design one. You could buff all healers to be equal and it still would not even be close to meeting the demand shortage DPS need.

Then theres several micro issues like casters being annoying to play as (not weak, but annoying) in low mmr vs melee and healers being thrown into games they are set up to lose from the start (win 5+ for 0 cr for example)

I dont really see any in game incentive that blizzard can offer people to WANT to que healer. Even if you threw large sums of gold at players, its value has diminishing returns and would encourage DPS to sandbag on their offspec more than genuinely making people want to heal.

Genuinely think a rated solo que game mode is good for the health of PvP, but trying to emulate arena 3v3 is not going to go well. Just embrace it being a meme mode, make it triple dps and last man standing.

The real solo que option they should be exploring is solo que rated battlegrounds or hell, just make a new mode entirely dedicated to rated solo que content. They kinda sort attempted this back in BFA with PvP island expeditions but those sucked big time.

More conquest and honor would have the opposite effect. It would just leave healers done for the week much quicker, meaning even less games.

Or fix the healing aspect of it so more people play a healer in PvP :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Genuine question, whats to fix? I say this again, its not a tuning issue. Healing is not a popular role and the demand will never meet the supply. There was a healer shortage in shadowlands, BFA, Legion, WoD, MoP, Cata, etc. Theres healer shortages in PvE M+ and raiding. What is the actual fix to the role?

I don’t even think it’s possible to fix healing without redesigning every single spec in the entire game.

Because the problem with healing is less with the healers and more with dps specs. The only way to “fix” healing at the moment is to make everything instant cast. And that would have other ramifications.

Bingo, and unfortunately this would require a combat/class redesign even bigger than Legion and I dont forsee it happening before they create a WoW2.

Healing is inherently flawed, unfun and boring. Nothing they can do is going to fix it besides, as you suggested, completely re-design all the healers.

I think solo shuffle should be baked into 3v3 and RBGs. Also removing the limitation of glad from it.

PVP only games have had a rated solo queue that offers the highest rewards for years and I still don’t understand the nonsense of 3v3 being “the real PVP” this seems like a gatekeep for the highest level players who abuse a meta. At least in RSS, you have a CHANCE at fighting cool comps you wouldn’t normally see. I’m a super casual player, and I’m doing what I can to learn my place in the game and get better at PVP, but I’ve always thought of 2k+ 3v3 or 5v5 as this boogeyman that I’ll never be good enough for because I don’t have a decade of experience in it already.

If you want people to compete, you make it easier to compete. Joe whoever should be able to queue for RSS with some cool rewards to work for, or else why would you? Cool, Joe got 2600 in RSS but rather than abuse one single one-trick comp to get to glad rating in 3s, he did it while enduring 1hr queues and holding his own in a variety of situations and still won enough to earn the rating. Why should he have to queue 3s and climb all over again for the titles?

With how easy they’ve made it to gear up,this seems like the logical choice to make things more appealing.

I know the oldheads won’t like it, but people that want a solid pvp experience will just play games that are only PVP. I can go play OW, League, Apex, Valorant and feel just as fulfilled in solo queue, why would I try and dredge through LFG looking for partners? If WoW’s pvp is to survive then imo, its reward structure needs to change to be more palatable for people

They should just remove the healer que entirely.

Hows about we get 2v2 dps only solo queue instead?

Requeue. I’m pretty sure the queue bugs out sometimes when someone declines and you don’t get anything within like 5 min. My friend and I were both getting sub 10 or even 5 min queues on DPS last night and it looks like you are in the same range of MMR as us on shadow.

The fix is start designing content that isnt dependent on having healers.
