9 hours into Kul Tirans. Not a shred of fun

See, I thought the same, get it done so I could unlock (B to the G Tiran) as a playable race.

Well, dust has formed on that race because I do not even play them.

Thereā€™s plenty of fun to be had. The quests and story may just not be for you. Personally, I enjoy BFA storylines.

Questing as a whole is mind numbing, doubly so when itā€™s content that half a decade old that has no real benefit to my current character

Iā€™ve not had time to play my main because of this garbage game design

yes too bad someone is ā€˜forcingā€™ you to play a way you donā€™t enjoy

If you are going to just force yourself through it rather than doing it at a leisurely rate, then Iā€™d recommend just following these guides - that way you avoid doing quests that you can skip out on if your plan is to just ignore all of it

Then do the same thing for the 8.1 campaign

But hereā€™s why I donā€™t think it takes ā€˜too longā€™ to unlock allied races:

  1. This is part of the overall story arc of an expansion and the particular allied race - you donā€™t want to do the stuff that is supposed to be surrounding the allied race, thenā€¦ mehā€™
  2. Whilst this is a bad argument but everyone has had to do it for something which is a substantial benefit to oneā€™s account, not a crucial or essential one, but still a benefit of more choices and options - the difference is whether you did it when it was current content and naturally got it or if you go back and rush through it on a max level character (or alternatively do it on an alt whilst leveling)
  3. I doubt that it takes 9 hours to complete on a max level character, a few hours maybe, sure, but overall it ainā€™t anything that is too much of an ask of people to actually play the game

And hereā€™s the final piece of information thatā€™s relevant:
You chose the scenic route of doing it on a leveling character, that means itā€™ll take longer, not by much but itā€™ll take longer
But ultimately if you donā€™t want to do it, then donā€™t do it - especially not in a way that would be massively inefficent if your only goal would be to get 'em unlocked

If I want this race, this is the only way to do it.

I want this race, so I am being forced to do it.

I donā€™t have any other alliance toons

Outside of one questline in Drust, I havenā€™t done a single side quest.

the fact you want this race NOW leads me to believe you are one of the sweaty people - otherwise you could do this type of content once you no longer had a desire to play your ā€˜mainā€™. You are the only types who literally think you should get to skip everything except the content you want to do.

I just completed all three zones for the first time.

I had a ton of fun.

My main is horde.

I literally cannot do this content on my main.

I bet you waste a lot of time in the game when you misread the quests.

You think I read the quests? Lmao

I have azeroth auto pilot that auto accepts and turns in quests and automatically skips cutscenes

Iā€™m not saying Marla is wrong.

What I am saying is that she always has an objectively bad opinion and always manages to state her bad opinions offensively.

Soā€¦ you donā€™t want the allied race, you just want to collect it ā€¦ but you donā€™t want to put the work into unlocking them any which way one can go about it
Gotchaā€™

Sorry but thatā€™s not how allied races work - you being ineffiecent in questing isnā€™t going to really sway anyone in any way shape or form

And no, this isnā€™t ā€˜objectively bad game designā€™; allied races are introduced via a lot more story and have a specific role that they play in the current expansions at the time
That means unlocking them means doing that content

For reference, you are essentially asking for the game to include an ā€œI want content but I donā€™t want to do whatā€™s associated with itā€-button into the game - can one change how allied races are unlocked? Sure
But youā€™d still be insane to argue anything other than ā€œA faction that is inherently tied together with a particular kind or type of content requires you to at some level to engage with that contentā€

I do want the allied race

Correct. They shouldnā€™t require work. Period.

More story than every other race that has been introduced? Blood elves and Draenei definitely donā€™t that much lore, which is why they were given for free with the relevant expansion

Allied races are not content.

Yes and no
Allied races are specific because they have their lore frontloaded, blood elves and draenei is lore that is built from the grounds up to be found anywhere and everywhere

Thatā€™s not the case with most Allied races

They very much so are, regardless of whatever you think about it

ā€¦ and it still is taking you so long - what do you do have your character rp walking ?

So they can change it so that the front loading of lore is not required, just like every other race in the game.

Calling allied races content is like calling water an entree

Because itā€™s literally 416 quests

I donā€™t know what your pace is, but if I were to be done by now like youā€™ve been suggesting, Iā€™d have to do 46 quests an hour or about 1.3 quests a minute.

Why donā€™t you find yourself see how fast you can get 416 quests done and get back to me

There are so many disingenuous and just flat out wrong people trying to chime in

because I leveled over 20 characters through that content and I am a slow quester and it never took me that long - plus you have to have flying so i really donā€™t know what the heck you are doing.

For some reason people get Nostalgic about old expansions that everyone knows was bad and they start to believe that the expansion was underrated until they actually go back to play through some of the content and remember it isnt underrated it actually is trash.
