9.0 is time: 4 specs for all classes, end of pure dps

Opinion: Pures are inferior to hybrid dps as hybrid dps have talent trees that actually fully adapt to what content dictates. Namely, Demon Hunters, Shadow Priests, and Balance Druids.

As such the following 4th talent trees need added:

A tank spec for warlocks
A healing spec for mages
A tanking spec for Rogues
A tanking spec for Hunters
A tanking spec for Shaman
A melee dps spec for Priests
A ranged DPS spec for Monks, Demon Hunters, Death Knights, and Paladins
Druids get a hug and nothing else

Before you whine:
The lore and story are in the toilet, gameplay trumps lore, and gameplay isn’t balanced. Class depth is below murloc dung tier, with the only defining characteristics being subjectively added and enforced weaknesses that are not traditional nor lore linked to said specs and classes.

Before you say it’s imbalanced now:
Balance is a farce. Attempts at balance have lead to homogenization, ability pruning, and perpetuation of the notion that the only delineation between good and bad in WoW is the ability to stay alive.

There were points, primarily in Wrath and MoP where good players could delineate themselves beyond staying alive and PVP.

You’re adding 11 new specs and only one of them is a healer?

Just no. The premise of your argument is wrong right out the gate.

This turned me off to 4 spec classes more than ever before

^This. If you’re going to add specs, make a better balance. And don’t add any more DPS.

I’d be absolutely thrilled with a Chronomancer themed healing spec for my mage.

He just did an interview saying no

Having 4 specs instead of 3 making things complicated for newer players is a rather laughable excuse.

Though I shouldn’t be surprised considering they think a vendor is too complicated for pvp players to understand

What if I wanna be a mage tank? I got to do it for a minute in BC give me that power back!

Sure, maybe locks can heal instead if they really don’t want a clothy swapping to leather to tank. I understand the concern, but Demon Hunters and Rogues don’t really translate as a healer.

Complete cop out. I agree. What a joke.

I forgot Warriors as an aside, obviously they would get a ranged DPS spec.

This is a good indicator you can tune out.

They cannot get what they have right now right, why would they add even more?

Are you drunk?

Well from that standpoint, they should’ve shut the game down after WoD. That’s a rather horrible perspective.

I honestly don’t think many classes would benefit from an additional spec.

no matter how much I want void paladins, I know it’s probably for the best that we don’t add specs to existing classes.

I agree.

Make it healing and you have yourself a deal.

Agreed, the lore even supports this.

Agree 100%

Might be too close to Monks…

They could always go on a class quest to unlock new forms?

Like Bear could be Spirit Bear, Cat could be Saberon, etc.

My take for some of these would be

Glad spec DPS for warriors
Shockadin range spec for pallies
Holy centred range spec for priests
Earth focused shaman tank spec
Rogue tank using parry and counter style of play

No. Three specs is enough for a class. With all those specs we could have 3 - 4 new classes. I would rather have new classes than new specs tacked onto existing classes. People are already expected to play all three specs, adding a fourth isn’t doing anyone any favours. Adding new classes adds more interest and variety since they don’t have to match the theme of the existing class.

Would be a bit hard to add more specs to current classes without messing up Legion content unless they’re unlocked through new high-level content.

I considered the idea of Arcane being reworked into a healing spec that uses chronomancy to reverse injuries a la King Crimson from JoJo, but that might irritate people who enjoy the spec in its current state the same way that Legion Survival did. Of course, if anything mages would be more likely to get Shadow as a fourth spec, fundamentally different from Shadow priests, of course.

Rogues would be more likely to get a healing spec a la the Smuggler and Imperial Agent from SWTOR. Them being tanks seems like an oxymoron, yet then again SWTOR also had two cloth-wearing, stealth-based advanced classes that could also tank, though I believe they use the Force to mitigate damage.

They cant balance what they have. Id prefer not to make it worse
