8.3 Was a Good Patch

BFA as a whole was awful, but 8.3 was a good patch (specifically, after corruption vendors were introduced).

The assaults were nice, the raid was nice, the content overall was nice. Would’ve loved to have seen it expanded upon. The fact it was around for 9 months was the only real issue with it, but otherwise it was great.

Heck, even 8.2 was great (Nazjatar was amazing, albeit small)…except that still had titanforging.

Hindsight is 20/20.

The assaults got old the 2nd week. Corruptions just made everything stupid easy, especially after we could buy them off the vendor.

Disagree, the corruption system was AWFUL. Tanks could delete you right away with high HP while being AFK. DHs and some classes needed needed infinite stars corruption to do ANY damage, if you didn’t get any…your dps was garbage. Also some corruptions in general deleted you in PVP no matter what.

6.1 was the best patch :camera:

Huh… I am the exact opposite. I think the BfA wasn’t that bad, but as the patches went on it got bogged down by time-sink systems (essences, corruption). I also thought that Nazjatar was a god awful zone, especially since you had to grind through it without flying for the longest time.

Oh, also the storyline of BfA was atrocious. I don’t know a single person who actually liked anything outside of Saurfang’s arc.

I was a happy unholy with tons of gushing wounds.

The assaults were awful, bad content, that they they used as a template for SL.

Visions were amazing, and I wish torghast were more like that.

Corruption was ridiculous, but it was fun and ridiculous.

8.2 patch was the only time I enjoyed BFA. Sadly the essense system became awful once you had to do it on alts and then dump 8.3 systems I really started to hate BFA again.

.3 patches are generally :ok_hand:

I’ll likely come back for 9.3

5.3 was the best :purple_heart: 5.4 too

8.3 was a great patch. Corruption was a lot of fun, specially the stats%. It allowed all kinds of previously unviable specs to become good. I did an Icecap spec on this character, and I had permanent Pillars of Frost. And each time I hit it, a bunch of whelps flew through the mobs, tearing them apart.

God, it was so much fun!

Personally I enjoyed bfa as a whole. I have my complaints about it, and while it wasn’t my favorite expansion, I do catch myself wishing I could go run an underrot or waycrest manor key quite a bit. Kinda hoping they release some sorta keystone greatest hits thing for a weekly at some point.

True, but first impressions are everything. The systems BFA had in place at launch were completely stifling. It doesn’t matter that 8.2 and 8.3 were great patches (imo of course) if the playerbase didn’t stick around that long thanks to the brutal grind behind azerite traits and island expeditions.

I really enjoyed corruptions once the vendor existed (although the way they did the circulation of options bas absolutely ridiculous).

I think like many others, the combination of essences+traits+corruption was too much. However, if I imagine that I already had the essences and good traits the corruptions as an added component were really cool and gave some neat options.

Corruption was the worst part of the game. How can you say BFA was bad but you like 8.3?

8.3 had all the same pains of farming azerite traits, essences, neck level, AND ADDED THE CLOAK AND CORRUPTION

I think they rushed out 8.3 because people were starting to bail, it felt kind of unfinished

I absolutely loathed BfA for the most part, but there is good and bad to everything.

Good:
-Zones were decent, less cramped than Legion it felt like. Still not large enough but Horde zones were fun. I LOVED Zuldazar.
-Visions were decent content. Better than Choreghast.
-Island Expeditions and Warfronts were an attempt at new content. With a few tweeks, they would’ve possibly been great.

Bad:
-Class design. Everything was sooo pruned. It was Legion, but worse. I might actually have ranked it a good expansion if not for the absolutely boring class design.
-Corruption.
-Way too many overlapping systems.
-Hearth of Azeroth was a stupid and boring replacement for the goodies we had in Legion.
-Overall felt like a low-effort expansion after Legion.
-HER WUUUUUUUUNDZ

BFA was fine. the only thing that sucked was that 2-boss raid people forget about.

I didn’t play 8.2 but 8.3 was awful as a returning player who hadn’t played since cata. The amount of grind to even begin content in 8.3 because of the system boat was terrible. Corruptions became the only thing that mattered and we’re anti-fun. The new content in 8.3 was recycled with some tentacles slapped on. The only good thing about 8.3 was the raid. Raiding is something blizzard rarely screws up on in comparison to everything else though.

I don’t see how anyone enjoyed the system spagetthi of bfa.

It was all very rewarding! Getting next rank of an essence was a big deal. Getting enough for your next big corruption by next vendor cycle made a huge difference. Unlike this endless grind for nothing.

8.3 was WoW at its best. Probably best patch since MoP.

i don’t think BFA was awful as a whole

but i do think 8.3 was a lot of fun

corruption was the most powerful i’ve ever felt in wow
